Noel Bates has supported people with disability & families in Colac for 50yrs. Noel’s son Craig was one of the Colanda facility's 1st residents. Noel served as Pres of Colanda Parents & Friends Assoc for 43yrs & supported 72 residents to transition into 15 purpose-built homes.

. @MargCoppolino has volunteered tirelessly to protect and advance the rights of all people with disability for two decades. She has been pivotal in creating awareness of diversity and improving services for CALD, LGBTIQ+ and women with disability across Aus.

Yesterday we honoured the outstanding lifetime achievements of Maurice Gleeson, @MargCoppolino and Noel Bates at the 2021 #VicDisabilityAwards.

The founder of the state’s first Para dance group has been recognised for keeping people with a disability moving and connected In lockdown. Rocca Salscedo says the biggest reward of all comes from those who tune in every week to dance along with her. @justinemack9 #9News
