No they’re not. Nobody at Newcastle has heard anything about this, so there are no talks let alone advanced ones. Does that mean there is no truth in Manchester United’s interest? Well that’s a different question but as things stand there is nothing going on. It’s March and I think a #nufc player has been linked with another club every week since December.

I’ll be on BBC Five Live shortly from Barcelona airport to talk about stuff. I presume football. That’s generally what they want me to talk about. Tune in, or don’t. Whatever. #nufc

The Champions League was a magic carpet ride for Newcastle United and the magic ran out last night. In reality, it was always going to do so at some point. It was a lot of fun but it’s over. Newcastle now have to make sure they secure some sort of European football again next season. They’ve picked up in the league. Huge game on Sunday. No time to feel sorry for themselves and I’m sure they won’t. We go again! Barcelona was my favourite trip of the lot #nufc

Newcastle gifted Barcelona five out of their seven goals in a humiliating end to their Champions League campaign. It was a catastrophic defensive display with Kieran Trippier's needless foul on Raphinha, just seconds before half time, turning the tide. Go in 2-2 at the break and Newcastle can change tactics, sit deep and play on the counter. They chased another equaliser and were cut to shreds in the second half #nufc

You want the NATO allies to join you in a war you started without ever consulting these allies about the war or explaining your war aims. We’re meant just to meekly fall in line. You recently supported a US invasion of a NATO ally (Denmark/Greenland) but now you want these same allies to join your war. Your president disparaged and misrepresented the role of NATO allies in Afghanistan. But now you want them to join with you again in a war of your making. You went to war with Iran without a thought of how to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and without involving your allies in the matter. But now you want the NATO allies to bail you out, even though there’s still no plan for Hormuz. You want the NATO allies to join you in a war in which you still cannot articulate the endgame. Or what victory would look like. You went to war thinking the Iranian regime would quickly topple, that Tehran would not attack the Gulf States or close Hormuz. Why would we align with such Epic Stupidity? You and other know-nothing blowhards started this war all on your own. You can finish it on your own. If you’re able to …
Lindsey Graham@LindseyGrahamSC

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

President Trump, "I've been a critic of protecting other countries because I know we'll protect them, and if we ever needed help, they won't be there for us" "I've just known that for a long period of time" The UK joined the US into Iraq and Afghanistan. 636 UK British soldiers died in these wars and ~5,786 were wounded or injured - shame on him for suggesting otherwise President Trump who is now scrambling for help with Hormuz then says, "I knew that the Strait of Hormuz would be used as a weapon by Iran. I predicted all of this stuff" So he predicted it but didn't plan for it, or even let allies know? Isn't that worse than not knowing, suggesting that he's utterly incompetent? President Trump is like Boris Johnson Waffles a lot Delivers diddly squat
