Maybe it's because I grew up in a conservative part of the country, but I internalized the right-leaning mantra that "Character is destiny." It's why I was certain that folks in my hometown would reject this president. I was wrong, but the mantra, it turns out, is still right.

Great NBA alternate universe: What if the Suns, rather than the Bucks, had won the rights to draft Kareem. Even greater alternate universe: What if George Mikan hadn't screwed up the ABA pitch and Kareem had signed with the New York Nets instead.

I get it--good for Rand Paul for grilling a guy like this. But seriously, it's hard to give too many plaudits to a senator who continues to support a Commander in Chief whose whole life has been distorted by anger issues.

A great read thank you @LukeEpplin for shining a light on a story that needed to be told. Admittedly I knew very little about Moses Malone before this book fascinating to learn his eternal ties to Dr.J And how they helped shape the modern NBA.
