When it comes to training youth athletes.. It’s just like investing. The best time to start was yesterday! The second best time is today. In other words, there’s no “optimal age” to start training.. And the younger the athlete starts training, the better. Why?? Because the younger an athlete is… The more adaptable they are. So the younger the athlete is, the more influence you have over muscle fiber composition. Which means if you train the right way.. You can help your young athlete build a HIGHER composition of fast twitch muscle fibers. This will not only support their performance today, tomorrow, and next month.. But it will give them a life-long advantage!! Especially over athletes who WAIT to train. It’s up to you.
