@LukeODx Glad you’re enjoying it! I mean you’ve only drawn the bury northward section. So it’s averaging the effective density over just that stretch. If you drew it all the way through the city centre to Altrincham or Didsbury, those % figures should (in theory!) change dramatically.

@GJMarshy Gotcha. When you say I’ve not completed the route, do you mean I have to link it back? Or are you suggesting the line needs extending further? (I’m not against this) Been mocking up some ‘on street tram’ lines for Bolton too. Great work on the site though!

@LukeODx Also, it doesn’t capture park and ride, leisure journeys (people going for walks etc), or interchange from other modes like buses. So in reality this would easily clear “tram” viability, light metro frequencies at a push. It’s more of a heuristic than a planning tool.

@thomasforth @Michael_J_Hil The Union did well to not lose the Scottish indy ref, don’t think it’d do too well again. We should Devomaxx, and go big on infrastructure. Mix in some public ownership, sprinkle some innovation - and we might be onto a winner. Inequality and division needs remedying too.

@LukeODx @Michael_J_Hil This gets pretty close to my view, on the hierarchy of Britons. It's why, in my opinion, Ireland left our Union, and why Scotland is drifting away rapidly. It might be worth us having a really good think about it before that happens.

Andy Burnham gave a speech in Cambridge this week. He is a politician, a lot more calm and measured than me, a lot more collaborative and cooperative, a lot less capitalist. But we agree on a lot, he just has to be much clear about it, and a lot of people missed his subtext.

@thomasforth @Michael_J_Hil I’m assuming you’d hear something with the words ‘important’ ‘critical’ to do with infrastructure, the economy, defence and intelligence. But we ought to argue that many/all regions are critical. End of the day the South East has ruled since the Normans, (or arguably earlier).

@Michael_J_Hil Maybe that's not realistic. I sort of feel it's not realistic. In which case I think people in the policy world should be a lot clearer and more honest on why it's not realistic. What specifically means we can never let London, Oxford, or Cambridge feel any pressure of losing?

It’s not every day that one gets to listen to a former British Prime Minister recite from memory the opening passages of The Iliad in Ancient Greek, with no notes, in response to a random question from an undergraduate—and all while wearing what appear to be Thomas The Tank Engine socks. But today was one such day. My thanks to my good friend Brad LaMorgese for the opportunity to see the colorful and comic Boris Johnson speak tonight at the University of Dallas.

I see some weird things but this takes the biscuit. A vulnerability in the Companies House website, that let anyone view the private dashboard of any one of the five million registered companies, see directors' personal details. And modify them.

There are plans for a Tram station at the Stadium (supposedly) ~ timeline unknown. Two major motorways nearby, and alternate routes you can take - think the stadium needs more than one entry road though. The problem, in my eyes, is the lack of anything else near there - Aldi and a Pub in the 10+ years the stadium has been there. Agreed anywhere we can generate revenue would be better - but we were due new terms which ought to have generated greater revenue for the Club from/through the Stadium.

@LukeODx The problem is the stadium because it has terrible connections, is too big for RL and the most important you make zero money playing there. Anywhere you could generate rev would be better. A joint stadium with Swinton for example.
