”I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” -- Bruce Lee Get your time in on the court every day and focus your work on a specific role. ow.ly/gtBv50H9kIK

Decoupling in the infra development world is a thing! Write #Terraform modules aren't hard coded to depend on other modules. Thats a code smell. Use Dependency Inversion! ow.ly/WV4P50H9krM

Scared of getting into programming because you're bad at math? Think again! Studies show those that are adept at learning new languages are great at learning Software Development! Don't let the math detour you, it's such a small part. ow.ly/PVGK50H9k5e

Building solutions with the mindset of "WHEN this service fails" instead of "IF this service fails" forces you to think about HA BEFORE the service has made its way into production. Not sure how to load balance your app in #Azure? We got ya covered! ow.ly/EBwp50H9j2O

If your using #terraform cloud, there is a pretty good chance you no longer need to use Terragrunt to orchestrate your deployments. Check out Mitchell's project which orchestrates workspaces inside TFC. ow.ly/Jiiq50H47RJ

Theres nothing like buggy #Terraform code that can greatly slow the momentum of a team. Be careful of: - Using depends on too much - Too many nested loops - Complex modules - Data sources pointing to infrastructure in the same state

I used to always wonder why there wasn't an easy answer for whether to store #Terraform code with the application code or in it's own repo. Then I learned about Conways Law and realized the team's structure plays a huge part in this design decision. ow.ly/yTSP50H3SA7

Automation enables success and failure at scale. One of the most scary scenarios I've come a crossed is deploying code changes to live production infrastructure with brittle code that has no tests.

After a long break from social media, I am back! Stay tuned for some public learning about IaC, DevOps, SRE, Kubernetes, and Azure. I've learned ALOT in my short time at Microsoft and Im excited to share 💪

Infrastructure-as-Code testing IS a real thing. I'm a firm believer that IaC code should be treated like developer code. - Tests - Proper modularization - Clean code - Security-first mindset Check out this chat with @LukeOrellana on this exact topic buff.ly/3yhfLqR
