Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

Every new car in the U.S. will be required by law to have tech that puts constant surveillance on the driver by 2027. AI in your car will determine if you're sober and fit to drive, automatically turning off the vehicle if it determines you're a danger on the road.

Jimmy Carr dropped a simple but powerful truth: “Hard choices now, easy life later. Everything is the marshmallow test.” He explained that every worthwhile pursuit in life comes down to the same principle as the famous marshmallow experiment: delay gratification today for a bigger reward tomorrow. The practical hack he uses? Ask yourself daily: “What would tomorrow-me want today-me to do?” (He even has it written on his fridge.) It turns long-term discipline into something immediate and manageable. What hard choice are you willing to make today that your future self will thank you for?

People are in pursuit of affordability, and that’s why they’re flocking to Tennessee. In Tennessee, we welcome new families and businesses as long as they check the blue state policies at the state line.

Millennials like to say their generation got the short end of the economic stick. Baby boomers like to push back, saying they didn’t have it so easy themselves. Well, who’s right? The question is next to impossible to answer, but we can still try. on.wsj.com/3OzsnHC
