Quinn Hughes with an inner slot shot late in the 1st for the Wild. Dallas streak of not allowing an inner slot shot on net to the Wild ends at 110:37. Almost 2 games worth of hockey.

I asked Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan about this. "I think if you look at it both ways, there's not a lot of that traffic and slot shots. They do a great job of getting inside and protecting their areas. And so we've had a challenge ourselves to get in there. With us, we've been good at it all year. You can just see our guys' commitment to defense. We've been really good at inner slot stuff all year, and our guys have just taken it to a different level, because we know how dangerous they are."

He does work hard, but his underlying numbers this year haven’t been good. 9th worst goals against per 60 rate in the NHL among forwards who’ve played at least as many minutes as him. He’s been a liability. And I like the guy.

Among 307 forwards with at least 150 mins of 5v5 ice time this season, Vinnie Hinostroza's 3.49 GA/60 rate is 9th worst. On the plus side, only Matt Boldy (7) and Ryan Hartman (6) have drawn more penalties than Hinostroza (5).

On #mnwild prospect Zeev Buium, he’ll be at tonight’s Hobey Baker presentation in STL and then after lots of hockey, he’d likely need a couple days off. With the Wild playing in Vancouver tomorrow, I’d suspect he signs later this weekend, practices Monday and maybe debuts Tuesday
