@Langeberg_Muni Thank you!! I have been informed by a local resident close to the Koningsrivier repair that phase 1 of the repair is complete, but there is still too much water to repair phase 2. Apparently, it will be ready between Friday and Saturday, weather depending.

@WCGov_infra Good day. When will people stuck in McGregor will be able to leave? Since the Keiserhof bridge collapsed, the only alternative route is Stormsvlei, which is only traversable by 4x4/bakkies. Apparently, the Koningsrivier road is being worked on. Could you update us?

@LukeVanDerSpuy @Langeberg_Muni Thanks so much for your help. We took that route you drew on the map and made it to Robertson. Will post a clip of the section where we had to drive through flowing water to give you an idea of the road. Was a bit tricky but not too bad.

Update: The road from Robertson to the McGregor/Le Chasseur bridge has re-opened but we urge the public to remain cautious.

@Nikoala_DW @Langeberg_Muni That looks very capable (in my humble opinion) - I know that someone was able to get through Stormsvlei in a Pajero, so if your car is comparable, I would attempt it. Just make sure you have the route info downloaded offline in case the signal is spotty!

@Nikoala_DW @Langeberg_Muni The Stormsvlei road is a no-go unless you have a 4x4 or otherwise capable vehicle. Local farmers are working to get the Koningsrivier road near the old Lord's pizzeria up and running. I spoke to the municipality, they recommended staying put for 1 or 2 more days.

I went to McGregor last year on assignment. The interesting thing is that that road is the only way and the only way out of the town. There is thus a challenge there that needs to be sorted real quick.

@Nikoala_DW @Langeberg_Muni Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. We are going to go and speak to the ward councillor and SAPS today, and hopefully they can provide us with some sort of update. We're keeping an eye on the status of the Stormsvlei and Koningsrivier roads, those seem to be the 2 alternatives.
