Openly mocking families who are struggling to stay in their homes after the largest property tax increase in 30 years is reprehensible.

@thesandeep_nair @timecaptales The thing with HP which I objected to back then and now is that none of it is original literature. Blyton, Hardy Boys, heck even the Henty books are original and novel. HP is slop, lazy writing with a lazy plot which was lifted from CS Lewis and Tolkien.

Any reading is good reading. Yes, within the confines of children’s literature, the classics are better than HP. But what of it? Saying children should only read classics is a form of intellectual snobbery. Saying children should only read HP is intellectual poverty. What if kids were never to read Enid Blyton or Hardy Boys? John Stuart Mills was raised on a strict diet of only classics and the poor man had a nervous breakdown by age 20. Also, he made a stupid point about cliches - cliches are not cliches for kids who may be seeing them for the first time. His intellectual weariness cannot be the yardstick to measure 35 M people by.

Since 2016, there have been 4 cases of non-citizens voting in Wisconsin out of 25,237,189 ballots cast (13 elections / excluding any special elections). Or 0.000000158496 of ballots cast.

It’s not a “mixed picture”. If you go into the crosstabs, 8/10 WI Republicans say noncitizens are voting. 9/10 Dems say that’s not happening. Those aren’t just different opinions, they’re different realities. 4 cases of non citizen voting have been found since 2016.
