@worigoule The light is also computed along the ray. I actually do fewer samples for the lights, so it isn't as expensive when there are multiple of them. Yeah the fog in CS2 works like this I think!

@LunarFinch Oh I think I knew this, the volumetric fog from cs2, so the light is just light on the box? Thanks for that website it is really educative

You can now fly into the fog! I also optimized the lights rendering a bit. Now I can have more of them while keeping an acceptable visual quality. This is the Compatibility renderer btw #godotengine #gamedev #indiedev

@worigoule Sure! The geo is a box with a shader that samples the fog "density" along multiple points of an intersecting ray. I might write a tutorial since I'm getting a lot of questions! Here's a pic I found that illustrates a similar technique (from learnopengl.com/Advanced-Light…)

Now with lights! Tried a few different approaches and ended up passing the lights info to uniform arrays. Everything is done in the fragment shader. There are not shadows yet, but I think it looks good enough for now! #gamedev #indiedev #godotengine

Pushed a small update to the game with some fixes! Most notably, Steam achievements were not properly unlocking on Linux. You can now keep exploring the City and unlock every secret! store.steampowered.com/news/app/42071…
