I just want to put this out into the universe. If you are a homebrew developer of a GB, GBC, GBA, NES, SMS, MD/Genesis, N64, or PS1 game with a free version or a free demo of you game, I’d love to ship it with SuperStation as a physical or digital demo disk.

@resfoundation Or, radical I know, how about reducing the massively bloated civil service and welfare state, cutting the cost of government and getting the country back to living within its means. Just a thought.

Today, Retro Remake held a holiday party surrounded by people who have helped us this year. This company is still very small with only 6 full-time employees. Thank you to everyone who supported us in 2024. We'll be back to work on 12/26.

If I try to sign up to the newsletter again after already doing it, I get a captcha and no confirmation message a second time. If you see the same thing, you are probably already subscribed.

We have finished doing a second-pass of QA on 1,000 MiSTER Pi, which means my buffer is half done. Was the second pass worth it? Yes! The money I have saved from potential RMA issues can already cover the salary of the staff I hired to do QA. Win-win.

@TakiUdon_ BGA - Ball grid array. So assuming it's onboard RAM like the QMTech Boards.

Starting with batch 3, we will have a new MiSTER Pi revision that can support BGA SDRAM, or standard SDRAM. This will simply our production process, while also allowing us to continue offering our $99 option for people who only need the bare board. Samples will arrive soon.

@TakiUdon_ I remember, years ago, having an HTC MDA clamshell from T-Mobile that looked similar. Great device for the time, convertible from clamshell to PDA with a twist hinge! Still have it in the garage somewhere! 🤣

The biggest change in three years is that this can now be powered by a Snapdragon chip.

3 years ago, I started work on a $99 pocket Linux handheld with a full keyboard codenamed Shell. This project died in the R&D stage after I quit my last job. Today, I found out this can be an R2 product. I've had a sketch of this on my wall for 3 years. I'm super hyped.

@TakiUdon_ I believe, and I'm sure others will confirm, that the UK issue, in particular, was post code based.

Thanks to some recorded videos I was shown, it is obvious that this issue is 100% caused by Shopify. You either cannot get through address verification because your country isn't supported (very rare), or Shopify thinks your address doesn't exist.

Should MiSTER Pi Batch 2 have a preorder? I don't like doing preorders if there are no cash flow issues. We do not have cashflow issues for MiSTER Pi, we have too much demand. A ~1-month no-interest loan doesn't seem like a good value if the preorder sells out just as fast.

@TakiUdon_ That sounds like a good compromise. I would certainly go for a preorder given the circumstances around my first order attempt! XD

Preorder lost. The middle ground was probably a preorder only for people with documented zipcode issues (caused by Shopify).

@TakiUdon_ Just want to also say thanks to Taki and his team for the hard work and efforts, especially dealing with the queries and questions on here. As frustrating as the purchasing system was it was for a small batch thus to be expected. Will wait patiently for the next one! ATB.

The 2nd half of batch 1 sold out in three minutes. We just placed an order for batch 2, and will start production ASAP. Batch 2 will have 2x MiSTER Pi. PayPal will also be available. Batch 2 should be 30 days from today. Shipping will continue tomorrow. Thank you all!

@TakiUdon_ Also can the eshop sort out the basket system to allow reservation until checkout complete? I had the product then got stuck in the ordering queue for so long the product sold out. Both frustrating and unfair. Would happily pre-order now to avoid the farce again.
