@EMannLand In most cases upscaled 4K is still better either due to better encoding or due to the masters sometimes having a resolution a bit higher than the Blu-Ray version, and some stuff are native 4K, but I agree that 2K content looks much better in 2K screens, that's why I have both xD

What is the use of having 4K tvs if everything is upscaled from 2K? Games are 2k Most films are mastered in 2K and upscaled. 2K TVs should have never stopped being sold, especially since most media can barely hit 4K and everyone is watching through some sort of interpolation.

Pragmata renders natively on PlayStation 5 at 1080p in both graphics modes - but here's how to boost that to 1440p: digitalfoundry.net/features/how-t…

@EMannLand I see, a bunch of other shows from the time and older have their dubs on streaming but with TMNT nothing is ever easy for fans so I guess the dub most be indeed lost forever. It's not even known how many episodes did they dub. Anyway thanks for taking the time to reply🙏

@LvcSm74850 Probably not unless they did multi audio tracks like (SAP)? for tv But I don't know for sure. If there was a Spanish audio track it was given to Paramount with everything else tmnt 2003 related

@EMannLand Haha good to know. So about the dub, you mean there's a chance that 4Kids never got any copy of it? In which case it would be lost forever sadly

@EMannLand Haha I don't remember when did I create it, but I started using X when a friend wanted to know about the possibility of a TMNT 03 re-render, so when he found that you were active here, he told me to ask you too, cause if 2 people asked there was more chances of getting a reply XD

@EMannLand So there's a chance that 4Kids never got any copy of the Spanish dub?? The dubbing studio (Candiani) doesn't exist anymore, so that means the dub could be lost forever?

@LvcSm74850 Being it was not done by 4kids I'm sure that is the reason why it never made it over to Paramount / Nickelodeon. They would have had to seek them out and get the audio possibly pay for the rights? But that's all speculation on my end

Something for you @TMNT Fans here is the rarely seen final cut of the Back To The Sewers opening. The footage was late and was not put together by the time we first aired. It features stills by @kharyrandolph painted by me. I designed the color for all the characters on the show.

Unfortunately, I cannot even if they don’t use it for anything “currently”. It still belongs to them. What would me putting out HD work on the net do for me? It wouldn’t get me more work? All it would do is jeopardize any future industry employment. Not to mention the legal ramifications.

This is an image of Splinter I drew for the #TMNT2003 #NinjaTribunal DVD. When I designed the DVD cover I also gave the 4 Kids graphics team some extra bits of artwork to populate the DVD menus and cover. For this image I felt splinter needed to have a cool moment for once, what with him getting knocked out or kidnapped all the time lol I wish he kept this outfit for the remainder of the series oh well :) All of the images for the tribunal cover were inked with a brush on a 14 by 17 Bristol and digitally colored in photoshop.

#TMNT2003 fans, I regret to inform you that we have lost our friend, brilliant storyboard artist Edwin Nebres, the son of legendary comic book artist Rudy Nebres. ED was an amazing giving person filled with life and boundless enthusiasm for our craft. He was one of the only full time staff to have worked on the original TMNT animated series and went on to work at Hanna Barbara on Swat Cats and a whole list of animated shows. ED had an incredible knack for action and fight sequences and boarded memorable fights like those found in Hun On The Run . He designed the cyber turtles armor and the Cyber Shredder for TMNT Back to the Sewers as well as creatures for the Chaotic card game In 2007 while on the job ED had his first stroke and our 4 Kids / TMNT art team and friends from the industry band together to create the ultimate tribute for ED The Chaotic card “NEBRES”. Of which you can read about here. e-mannland.blogspot.com/2008/12/chaoti… Our little 4 Kids / TMNT art team was a badass little engine that could, punching way above our weight class and killing anything the hire ups would throw at us from animated shows to cover art to card art. We were like a family. After his stroke ED was able to give us one last board and a Turtle Dimension image of which I colored for #TurtlesForever his final screen credit. ED is now FOREVER not only in the hearts and minds of those of us who knew him but immortalized in every frame of animation he had a hand in. R.I.P Brother edwintnebres.blogspot.com

@EMannLand I think those classic designs with gravity units have never been revealed, I would've loved to see them, and I never thought much about the different palettes but the overall atmosphere was always much better before FFW, now I see why, thanks for all this interesting information

The future stuff was a playmates thing. The overall design change was for animation consistency to stretch the budget and get out episodes faster. There are actually early character models of the classic 2003 turtles designs with the gravity units. In addition to the style change we removed all alternate Lighting palettes so there was no night palette or any other . By season 5 we had hundreds of special pallets. if a character walked in different lighting environments a new color model would have to be made to match the background the character was seen on. A normal season 4 and 5 episode would normally have multiple duplicates of characters props and backgrounds in different palettes . How I know is literally in season 4 my job was to apply all existing palettes to the stock characters and props. It was incredibly time consuming work. For FF everything was colored in day or lit , even night backgrounds. day backgrounds only needing small edits to feel like they were at night and vice versa. For animated character and props color design. I did not need to wait for backgrounds to be completed to match characters to them as long as we stayed in the same range it all matched up fine.

Actually.... The design was completed as were others. I posted it before. It was for the canceled second season of TMNT : Fast Forward Season 7. In the original plot: After detecting life signs coming from a lone asteroid ( It being the asteroid the shredder was imprisoned on by the Utrom ), a Triceraton deep space freighter goes to investigate it under United Federation of Planets regulations. (It was going to be all very alien.) However, the crew is overtaken by a space suited crew member and the ship taken over. The later reveal comes when the suited crew member pulls off his helmet and it is The shredder attached to the Triceraton's face like a face hugger. Eventually he makes the armor. When Season 7 was canceled a lot of it was adapted and reused for back to the sewers . Notice the tri shredder pallet looks very similar to the Back to the Sewers Cyber Shredder? "I" reused it when designing the color. His thugs that look like Me and background painter Jimmy Tran were turned into purple dragons as with a lot of other characters that were reworked for Back to the Sewers. This includes Mr Mortu Leather head and a bunch of alien background characters that were turned into human pedestrians.

@EMannLand I see, so I guess that originally it would've probably ended in S5. And btw the FFW turtles redesign was also forced by Playmates? Or was it just a creative choice to make the futuristic design easier to animate?

TBH I don't know if there was anything? Season 6 literally came right on top when were were completing 5. So we were workingon two different style show simultaneously. There was a reboot redesign that was thrown around but when they found out how much it would cost to do they just went with a soft reboot they were really set on doing future toys. and what was keeping us on air was toy sales.

@EMannLand I wonder, what would've happened if Playmates didn't interfere? If the show had been allowed to continue without any redesigns and the creative team had been allowed to do what they wanted, do you know what was planned for after season 5?

By this time they were in full light mode and Standards and practices didn't have any issues. So we were all good to go. But why it got canned was because Playmates didn't want to fund it or make future toys despite having us pivot toward future stuff for FF. You see, our show was a joint venture between Mirage, 4kids and playmates. Playmates being the one flipping the majority of the bill they would sometimes suggest strongly to move in to certain directions. And Pete looked to Lloyd and us to try to make their requests work in the context of the show..

The physical guides came with a CD. As far as production art, all of that is with paramount . our physical art as well as digital color files. The scale of our original Background image files were 300 dpi and the characters and props were 150 dpi. They were scanned off of 8.5 by 14 legal paper design packs

Its something I would love to see but it would have to be done right. Talking to Lloyd and our directors Chuck and Roy and our production team ETC and getting ahold of all our production art. As of now Paramount / Nickelodeon has all of our original art and assets and it is all in their hands if something like that were to happen. That said, the folks in charge are not blind to fan demand for anything #TMNT2003. Being I'm not directly involved personally but knowing how these things work I would say, It is all about finding the right place and time to put something like that together. They don't want to step on their own toes especially if they have new shows and movies coming out.
