We experienced this too.
There are "VCs" in Morocco whose business model isn't for your company to grow, and then get sold for a higher price (or make a profit).
No, no, no. Their business model is to get in early, and then "take a cut of all future raising rounds".

I was working with my cofounder last year on a harvey.ai for Morocco, we got all the laws, finetuned with tens of lawyers and got an mvp that a lot of lawyers were shocked it could even exist. We struggled with the financials especially since renting GPUs were costly and we were paying that out of pocket (+ bunch of other things) we went to look for a vc and discovered the reality of the startup ecosystem in Morocco, only offer we received is $10k which the vc will get 10% of all investments coming in next 2 years. Basically using us as a vc funnel. Others laughed at us and asked us to comeback when we have more than $100k in revenue. Khoya if I have 100k in revenue why would I need you lol
