Today is Rare Diseases Day and The Foundation is dedicated to supporting research to fight one of the deadliest rare cancers affecting children, DMG (DIPG).

The Foundation remains steadfast in aiming to advance the development of life-saving treatment options for DIPG and other underserved brain cancers.

With our help via a recently awarded grant, @cctdilab will work on developing an antibody-drug conjugate for DIPG. ADCs are a class of immunoconjugates that chemically link protein-specific antibodies with cytotoxic agents to target antigen-expressing cells with high specificity

Our support via this grant will allow cc-TDI researchers to specifically target the Interleukin-13 cell surface receptor abundantly expressed in DIPG cells but notably absent in surrounding normal brain tissue.

TLNF awarded a grant to @GOSHCharity for researchers @GreatOrmondSt & @UCL hoping to develop a new treatment for diffuse midline glioma (DMG) until recently known as DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) using a patient’s own immune system to attack the cancer cells.
