JUST IN: Blessing CEO has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, over an alleged N36 million fraud case. According to the EFCC, the social media influencer, whose real name is Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, is facing a two-count charge bordering on alleged obtaining of money by false pretence and stealing. During the court proceedings, her lawyer told the court that she had already refunded N24 million from the alleged amount and requested a brief adjournment to settle the outstanding balance. However, EFCC counsel maintained that the commission was not involved in any settlement talks, stressing that the Federal Government of Nigeria is the complainant in the case and that the defendant must first enter her plea. Justice D.I. Dipeolu ruled that settlement discussions may continue alongside the trial, while ordering that the arraignment proceed.
