Scotland’s latest annual drug death figures will be released later this morning and are expected to show an increase. Chelsea Cameron, from Dundee, wrote an open letter to her drug-addicted parents in 2017. The letter, in which she thanked them for teaching her to be independent and resilient, went viral.

Drugs and Alcohol Policy Minister Christina McKelvie heard about the rollout of MAT Standards by @FifeADP services at Cameron Hospital. The @P_H_S_Official report notes 90% of standards 1-5 have been assessed as fully implemented across 29 ADP areas.

1/2 #Etizolam was the primary drug detected in street benzos in 🏴 etizolam detections ⬇️ and detections of new benzos ⬆️. #Bromazolam is now the most common drug detected in street benzos. Produces strong sedative and sleep inducing effects. There is a substantial risk of OD.

Unfortunately today on placement I had to administer Naloxone. Very difficult circumstances but seeing how effective it can be, emphasises the importance of people carrying Naloxone and learning when, how and why it's used. Feeling quite proud of myself tonight ❤ #studentnurse
