Funny! I read another comment from a Catholic that makes me think they are the ones that don’t think…that the Pope makes sure all churches teach the same dogmas and have no opinions. I went to a Protestant Church for a long time that majored in feelings but not at the expense of thinking. I now go to a Protestant church that majors in thinking but not at the expense of feeling. We do both. We get some things wrong, as that’s the human condition, but we get lots right, too! Especially the Gospel taught in Scripture that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. He died on a cross for our sins, was buried and raised on the third day. He bridged the gap between us and God so that we can have eternal life if we believe.

The way you put this makes me think of a cult. You aren’t allowed to question or think for yourselves. There is little reason to search the Scriptures like the Bereans did to see if what Paul (and Silas) said was true (Acts 17:11). My husband’s parents were taught not to read the Bible because only the priests could rightly interpret it. It’s my understanding that Catholics are now allowed to read it. Is this true? If it is, for what purpose?

@JesusisChristX The Pope makes sure all Catholic Churches teach the same dogma. No opinions. No different interpretations. Just truth. Mass teaches the exact same liturgy around the world at every Sunday mass. Pope has nothing to do with your personal relationship to Jesus.
