Why legionery choose gladius over pilum or spear in melee combat? Heres why. Of course pilum can be used as hasty anti cavalry weapon, and legionery did use spear or hasta, but gladius + scutum still dominated the close combat.

@pokitasu Thank you for sharing, for some people don't understand why my assistant use Pilum as spear, it was just because I didn't bring spear (hasta), so we will Pilum to simulate spear attack.
