@marybaillie66 You would but then your garden would be bare leaving you without the pleasure of walking out to see all their beautiful blooms

@M49Denise Speaking of buds, was just doing a rough count of peony buds and it's looking like there's several hundred blooms coming my way this year. 😍 I'd make a fortune setting up a stall. 😂

Looks promising for this week. Finally ... 🌱🌱🌱 My shovel awaits. As does my fork, my rake, my hoe, my loppers, my hedgecutter ...

@marybaillie66 Well the one rose I pruned has got lots of buds coming & saw signs on a 2nd so they will start. Lots of dark purple heads on the lavender & the little white with purple tips phlox is opening.

@M49Denise You'll see the really rapid growth in the next few weeks. Mornings are still a bit chilly and keeping everything in check. Just tried to put my wellies on. Foot said 'NO!' Gentle stuff it is then ... I can 'think' about what needs digging up, hopefully tomorrow ... 🙄

@marybaillie66 Good idea. Just been out checking everything also filling the birdbath. Most of the mint is taking which is 👍 the transplanted rose is in that in-between stage hanging in there but no new life. Those pesky GH are nearly done so will be digging up probably on Wed/Thurs. 😊

@M49Denise My foot won't allow me to get too carried away today. 🙄 At least it's not excruciatingly painful any more ... just painful. The skin is still lovely and soft though ... silver lining and all that. 😂😂😂 I'll stick to sowing seeds and light pruning. Gentler pastimes ...

David Miller looked emotional and alone after winning the match for his team with the winning shot against RCB. He scored 15 runs in the final over and finished with 22* off 10 balls at a strike rate of 220. When he failed to finish against GT, many people trolled him, calling him a “choker.” But once again, he proved that he is one of the most clutch players. The way he played today deserves appreciation. Well played, David Miller — a brilliant finish against RCB. 👏

@marybaillie66 Think Sascha's allowed Italians inside his head. He was serving well but just couldn't get round Cobolli. Hope Shelton takes it tomorrow. Will try to watch Andrey

@M49Denise Oh dear, just catching up on the results. 🙄 Been in the garden all afternoon - and still out here with the gaffer. Not for much longer, getting a tad chilly. Missed Rublev's semi, but see he's in the final. 👏 Will tune in tomorrow.

A brief ⛅️ spell before the next rain shower. Meant to take a photo of the amelanchier a few days ago when it was at its peak. Petals starting to fall now with every gust of wind. 🫤 Looks wonderful though with the forsythia in full bloom under the canopy.

@M49Denise @cm_bagot More of the same tomorrow, so my gardening plans are on hold yet again. 😫 Those 'showers' had better not be like today's ie torrential. 😑😑😑

@M49Denise @cm_bagot That's all of the new herbs repotted and tucked up in the plant house. The sage I got a fortnight ago has rapidly increased in size already. Still to decide if I go with sage or rosemary for the tall planters. Time yet to decide.

@M49Denise @cm_bagot Ah, that'll be it. It was torrential rain here just after I finished potting them up. Now? Hardly a cloud in the sky.

@marybaillie66 @cm_bagot Well it might be a bit too much water because of the rain so indoors it will dry out a bit then reintroduce it probably towards the end of the week when I'll have more soil

@M49Denise @cm_bagot Sage is very hardy, a tough herb. Given it's only a 'wean' at the moment, give it a bit of tlc. I've always had mine outside, even through the winter. Don't overwater it though. I'm taking my old one out of the trough as it must be about 8 years old and needs replacing.

@cm_bagot @marybaillie66 You're lucky you've got a plant house. Decided to bring the purple sage back inside - wasn't happy outside. Popped it on the hall landing window sill between the 2 indoor begonias so it won't feel alone. See how it does there for a few days before moving it outside again.

@M49Denise @the_LTA Thanks for that Denise. I remember Calderstones Park. A guy I employed was asked to cover it by Radio Merseyside but knew nothing about tennis so I got roped in. Interviewed Boris Becker and Peter Lundgren. That’s going back isn’t it?😃

@Keithclubline @the_LTA Yes great interviews. I remember Peter Lundgren when he was coaching Marat Safin. I was running a forum for Marat then created his website to run it until he retired in 2009. Peter was a lovely guy but very particular in players box no one to sit next to or behind him 🤔
