🚁 You may have noticed a bright yellow helicopter flying around, it’s still us, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity! Sometimes our red helicopters need repair or maintenance, and we temporarily use this yellow one to continue providing our lifesaving service. 💛

We were honoured to welcome Sir Andrew Mitchell MP to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity HQ. During his visit, Sir Andrew learned more about the charity's lifesaving work, met members of our team, and gained an insight into our operations and the challenges facing the charity. As the Member of Parliament for Royal Sutton Coldfield, Sir Andrew represents a community within the area served by Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. We were grateful for the opportunity to discuss the vital role our service plays across Birmingham, the West Midlands and the surrounding counties, and we look forward to keeping in touch in the future.

We were delighted to welcome Tahir Ali MP (Birmingham Hall Green and Moseley) to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity HQ where he was able to learn more about our operations, the impact of our service, and the challenges facing the charity. . It was a pleasure to show Tahir around our facilities, introduce him to members of our crew, and provide an insight into the charity's lifesaving work. As well as serving Birmingham and the West Midlands, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity also provides emergency pre-hospital care across rural counties including Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. We look forward to continuing the conversation in the future.

🚁 Fun Fact Friday Our helicopters actually have their own call signs Each one is made up of three parts: 👉 “Helimed” – the name you’ll always hear 👉 A number – identifies the aircraft (03, 06 and 09) 👉 A flight type – and this is where it gets interesting… 🚨 Alpha – we’re responding to an incident or transporting a patient. Think “blue lights in the sky,” giving us priority when every second counts. 🏡 Echo – we’re heading back to base after a mission. So next time you see one of our helicopters, you’ll know there’s a whole system behind that call sign 🚁
