Recently, members of the MADOC Honor Guard attended the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation's Project 2000 National Memorial Service in Salt Lake City, Utah - honored those who lost their lives in the line of duty and those who have made extraordinary sacrifices in service.

We're proud to have our Community Work Crews, who at the request of Taunton officials, helped with painting as renovations continue at the former Coyle & Cassidy High School, which will become the future home of John F. Parker Middle School.

MADOC’s Employee Assistance Unit Military Peer Support Program (MPSP), in partnership with the Massachusetts Correctional Federated Union (MCOFU), hosted the 3rd Veterans Benefits Fair - over 25 vendors and providing military veteran staff with a wide range of resources.

We celebrated the opening of a newly renovated unit at MCI-Norfolk designed to support the healthcare and recovery needs of incarcerated individuals. This project would not have been possible without the hard work of the many staff at MCI-Norfolk who worked on the renovation.

🌟 Commendation Spotlight 🌟 Commissioner Shawn Jenkins recently recognized the swift actions of Correction Officer Craig Houston and Recreation Officer Barry Julius, whose response during a medical emergency helped save the life of an incarcerated individual.

We pause to remember Correction Officer Joseph A. Ribeiro, Sr., who died in the line of duty on June 25, 1998 while responding to an incident at MCI-Shirley. Officer Ribeiro's sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we remain grateful for his service.

MassDOC and @MountWachusett celebrated a major educational milestone as 30 incarcerated students completed higher educational programs in various business fields. For the first time in the program’s history, 9 individuals earned associate degrees through the DOC-MWCC partnership.
