Today at the 29th Annual Excellence in Corrections Awards, 11 DOC employees were recognized for their bravery, professionalism and commitment to service. @EOPSS Secretary Kwon, Undersecretary Peck and Commissioner Jenkins honored DOC, @EssexSheriff and @msosheriff staff.

Last month, DOC held a commemoration event in honor of Victim Rights Month, where we came together to honor the importance of supporting victims and survivors. We heard from Ready Inspire Act, whose work provides support to individuals impacted by exploitation and trafficking.

Held during #CorrectionsWeek, the 2026 DOC Heroes Cup brought staff together from all our facilities for a day of friendly competition, in events like basketball, kickball, cornhole, and pickleball. Thanks to the Wellness and LEAD Committees for organizing this outstanding event.

As part of #CorrectionsWeek, the MassDOC will gather today for its annual Celebration of Life service. This ecumenical ceremony honors the lives of DOC employees and retirees we lost between January and December 2025. Their names are listed below.

All of us at the MassDOC extend our deepest condolences to the @MassStatePolice family on the tragic line-of-duty death of Trooper Kevin Trainor. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all members of the State Police during this profoundly difficult time.
