@arielhelwani And regarding the "ending it, before the product diminishes in quality" point. Plenty of fans criticised the fact that so many WWE talents got booked. Which, ironically, could've helped this project's growth.

@arielhelwani I do wonder what exactly the "goal" of this "evolution" was supposed to be, given how this concept has a specific ceiling in terms of success after all, and it always seemed like this "underground"(no pun intended) feeling it had going on was part of the appeal.

Josh Barnett reveals his reasoning for ending Bloodsport:
“I wasn’t trying to make a big deal out of it. I didn’t want it to come off as a gimmick. There were a lot of conflicting feelings within my own heart about whether this was going to be the case or not.
When all is said and done, I feel like I absolutely made the right choice here. It wasn’t for anything negative. There wasn’t a tragedy, and there wasn’t some overarching bad issue or problem in that sense.
For me, Bloodsport had an evolution of where it was trying to get to, and we’re just not there—we’re not close. For me, it was better to end it now than to keep going and, quite possibly, diminish what the product is.”

I will be 100% honest: WrestleMania 42 felt soulless. The whole thing felt soulless.
That’s the term I use for the Apex, and that’s the term I use when I see the AI stuff—but this was on a different level.
That did not feel like WrestleMania. It felt stripped down. It didn’t feel big.
I’m not against advertising, but there are ways to do it with grace and class. Literally everything was for sale. They have gone from nothing to completely overboard.

So, the new (and probably future) WWE Wrestlemania.
You cannot broadcast wrestling like it’s a sport. That’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what pro wrestling is and what pro wrestling fans want.
Sport fans will suffer extended advertising segments because they are invested in the result - and the anticipation of that result. In sport the result is everything. You’ll wade through all kinds of slop to find out who’s making history this time.
Wrestling fans are fans of stories! We want a backstory we can believe in, all the bells and whistles for the final chapter (no pre-match video package? REALLY?) and we want a satisfying payoff from bell to bell. We want good, well told stories, in the ring and out. And plenty of them! You think we’ll keep tuning in just to find out “who wins?”
Good luck with that one.

They made every right move in the build to Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi, all they had to do was stick the landing. Tonight, they did. THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE A STAR. #Wrestlemania

To be fair, Ric had just had his cataracts removed before the show started.

To be fair to Triple H, if they'd have played a four minute of trailer The Human Centipede in 2009 during his WrestleMania main event with Randy Orton, I'd have paid the PPV company double.

When Triple H was telling everyone to f— off being a critic, he used a movie analogy. I was just wondering: is there an example of a movie where, after every scene, they show a four-minute clip of a different movie, and then sell you car insurance before going to the next scene?
