Oh dear lawd in heaven. I didn’t realise that some still liked to play PLC when on visiting a non SE circuit court. Thought that went out of fashion 10 years ago. And very rarely if ever was it done by women counsel.

@DrNeilStone Meaning no discourtesy to the social sciences, an eminent sociologist has written a think piece on the issue which was largely common sense but also had me wondering if reader would read what their area of specialisation was….

One of the reasons people don't recognize ADHD as a disability is that they see ADHD struggles (with things like organisation, tidyness, timeliness, communication etc) as personal failings. That is ableism.

Thirty organisations representing victims of violence against women and girls (VAWG) have written to the justice secretary @DavidLammy, urging him to drop plans to significantly reduce the number of jury trials. The groups said that the proposals, which will affect court cases in England and Wales, will deepen mistrust in the justice system among victims and distract from measures designed to reduce offending. The signatories, which include Rights of Women, the End Violence Against Women Coalition, Women for Refugee Women and various branches of Women’s Aid, added that they were “deeply concerned that the curtailment of jury trials risks unfair outcomes that undermine justice for everyone”. The letter, which has also been signed by Fiona Rutherford, the chief executive of the law reform charity @JUSTICEhq, said those working against violence were particularly concerned for women and girls who were “unjustly criminalised” as a result of their abuse, some of whom have faced trial themselves. Another signatory, @centreWJ the Centre for Women’s Justice, has long campaigned on the issue, saying that about 70% of women in prison or under probation supervision are known to be victims of domestic abuse. It argues that some domestic abuse victims charged with criminal offences have acted under duress or in self-defence. theguardian.com/law/2026/mar/1…

Keir Starmer wrote a report in the 1990s on Northern Ireland's judge only "Diplock" courts. He found them unfair, said that they "bordered on conveyor belt justice" and had 90% conviction rates. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/03/1…

My son just got an offer from the Inns of Court College of Advocacy. I am absolutely over the moon for him. He’s worked so hard to get here, and he’s completely dedicated to the idea of joining the criminal Bar. If you hear champagne corks, it’s us!

@AngThaDean @aChildOf2Worlds Am so sorry that you went through that but every word you said is true & you spoke truth to power. Worst part is that some parents of other kids reinforce that othering. Your bravery and resilience is hard won but respected 💛

Like pls spare me. We all saw the way Special Ed children were treated in school. For me understanding I’m AuDHD is the first thing that has truly explained why I was so severely bullied in school, in such a way that I was feeling hunted. I literally made myself as small as physically possible and people would go out of their way to harm me

The discussion about whether autistic people are “bad” at socializing is falling flat for me bc we see how y’all treat people for merely “looking funny” even if they’re not interacting with you at all

Somebody does not walk “the right way”, have the “right facial expressions” while they are literally minding their business and they start getting bullied 😭 somebody said she was quiet, not silent at work and people started calling her all sorts.

influencers have replaced everything. being an actor or a musician or a writer is just treating your work as fodder for sponsored social media posts and brand deals. politicians see their jobs as clip farming. real life is just a content farm for shortform vertical video
