CONGRATULATIONS! Connor Ice, Senior Starting Pitcher, Winters Mill HS The Ice Man After deciding between multiple offers, Connor has officially committed to Oberlin College in Ohio! He first came into the studio this past June heading into his senior year. Connor was lanky, needing strength and had zero colleges interested in him But what he did have was a Work Ethic, Goals and Focus He is one of the kids that was overlooked and underestimated. Connor followed his MANA performance program the past 4 months He has put on over 20 pounds of muscle and became a much more explosive pitcher. But changes did not just improve physically, teaching him mindset approaches added to his transformation! Love seeing kids overcome and achieve! Be on the lookout for updates on him when his senior season gets going next spring!

During last night’s Game 1 American League Wild Card Round, Detroit beat Cleveland 2-1 in a pitcher’s duel. Like it said, you don’t have to go to a major D1 school to make it to the League. Just a dream and some hard work!

MANA Sports Performance The “Ice Man” Cometh Athlete Spotlight: Connor Ice, Senior Starting Pitcher for Winters Mill HS Connor first stepped into the MANA Studio 3 months ago in June. His goals. PUT ON WEIGHT GET STRONGER PUT ON AT LEAST 5mph ON HIS FASTBALL PLAY DIV III COLLEGIATE BASEBALL He came in at a wiry 6’4” and 178 pounds and no college showed interest in him. Anytime an athlete comes into the studio, I always question work ethic and focus in order to determine possible results. He just wrapped up his metrics testing this week. After 3 months of training, this is some of his achievments: He has gained 22 pounds and weighs in at 200 lbs! He has increased his squat from 245lbs to 330 lbs. An increase of 85lbs! His top speed on his fastball was 74mph when he first came in. It is now at 85mph. 11mph increase in velocity! On the field, he just had a start last weekend as a guest pitcher for the Richmond Braves 18u and this was his stat line: 5 innings pitched 0 runs 7 strikeouts 2 walks 1 hit He wrapped up his 3rd collegiate visit last week and is due to make a decision in the near future! He’s not done yet. He’s setting the bar higher and wants to finish the year out with a big bang! A big bang! Barring any injury, the Ice Man will be another MANA athlete to finish off a very memorable senior season!!

MANA Sports Performance Athlete Spotlight: Billy Glenn, a rising 8th grader who goes to Oklahoma Road Middle School, had standout performances for his football team. He first came into the studio 2 years ago as a 6th grader. The “slowest” on the team and “very” heavy feet when he ran. Little agility, no explosion to any of his movements. He barely was able to jump ON the 18” plyo box. Now… He jumps OVER the 24” box from a standing position. Billy’s growth was due to parents who understood expectations at his age, his genuine love of baseball and football and the trust in MANA’s program. It was rough at the beginning, but Billy kept his head down, kept being humble, kept working. I told him and his parents he could play at the high school level baseball, last year. The following video shows his progress so far. More to come on this young athlete who will be opening a lot of eyes in the coming years. Run, Billy, Run!!!

One of the best things about my softball journey is meeting people like Coach Wendell @MANASports4444.  His stories about growing up in Hawaii, playing D1 bball, & studying Muay Thai in Thailand made training w/ him so unique.  Miss our chats Coach Wendell!

@CCTNews Great job, young lady! Although this was not part of the goals at the beginning of the season, what a wonderful accolade! It made all of the adversity that you had to bust your way through all season worth it. Well deserved!! Coker University is getting a great one!
