Very sad news. Patsy was an outstanding community activist, founder of Mothers Against Violence and a firm advocate for a better Manchester. Her legacy will live on through @MAVMCR - and she will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

We are sad to announce the passing of our founder, Patsy McKie. Patsy began MAV in 1999 with a pioneering mission to make Manchester safer through community, togetherness and empowerment. She will be missed deeply by our team, and Manchester. Rest in Peace.

Heartbreaking news coming out of South Manchester. We need real change, we need action and we need investment. Within these areas are communities, communities that are vibrant and diverse but gripped by violent crime and the fear of it.

I am 24 year old young change-maker from Manchester UK. I currently work for @Young_MCR as a project coordinator on a youth engagement project. I also volunteer with @MAVMCR which is a black-led anti-violence charity ran by volunteer/victims of violence for the community. (2)
