@MAllen132 @MLB @BYUBaseball Listen, I love Boone, but that’s a scenic photo with a ballpark in it, not a scenic ballpark

Pitching yayo line Dontrelle Willis, we the trillest on the mound

Baseball is the hardest sport because wtf are you suppose to do with that pitch as a hitter

It's the first MLB home run with a negative launch angle in the entire Statcast era because of course it is.

BOBBY WITT -6° LAUNCH ANGLE HOME RUN! 😎

@hallofgoodpod In similar news, Rick Porcello is also not eligible

I’ve gotten a lot of DMs about it since his no hitter for the Long Island Ducks, but guys, rules are rules. Trevor Bauer is NOT Hall of Pretty Good eligible. It’s not about how you feel about him as a player or a person. He literally violates one of the rules we’ve had since day 1.
I also don’t care that it was a short season. MLB acknowledges it in their record books and so do I. Bauer is ineligible.

@Jimmylegs71 @BarstoolGruden @chad_minton @Titans He gets boxes from all the teams, nfl, MLB and more. He has a series of videos unboxing these. It's not weird if you've seen the other videos. He's equal opportunity.
English

@BarstoolGruden @chad_minton @Titans Bit curious why he’s repping the titans, but whatever. I like Gruden, but he has no connection to the team.
English

We got a box from Nashville, Tennessee... it's the Tennessee Titans and their NEW colors!!
I can't wait to watch Carnell Tate run around and catch passes from Cam Ward in uniforms like these!
Thank you Coach Saleh and the entire @Titans team for this awesome box!

Another look at undrafted WR Tyren Montgomery (@TyMontgomery_4) in @Titans rookie minicamp.

@DontLaseMeBro @CodifyBaseball Envelope principle. If the virtual envelope containing the ball touches it's a strike. How tall is a lace? Lol your correct it's solved and we're discussing distances probably less than the uncertainty of the system.

@MAllen132 @CodifyBaseball Then you have the opposite issue where due to the rotation the cover is the nearest approach. No part of the ball hits the zone but the maximum radius intersects for a called strike.
The idea we're discussing this is hilarious considering we've basically fixed the real issue.
English

If any part of the ball touches any part of the zone, it's a strike. Although the zone itself has changed over time, that’s been the literal MLB rule for the past 120 years.
Matthew Lee Rosen@MatthewLeeRosen
Why is this a strike?
English

Genuine question:
Whatever you change the margin to… you’re always going to have calls that are 0.5% within that new area right? You can’t run away from this, right?
Matthew Lee Rosen@MatthewLeeRosen
In this instance, less than 0.5% of the ball has actually touched zone. It does't seem justifiable to reverse the umpire's call. The ABS system calculates inches & surface data. I think the rules should be adjusted, so that 25% of the ball must be in the zone for a strike.
English

@DontLaseMeBro @CodifyBaseball But why would it not assume the minimum circumscribed sphere which includes the laces. Software should be able to track the ball and apply radial offset for the full circumscribed dia.
English

@CodifyBaseball It somehow just occurred to me that at some point there's going to be an pitch whose laces caught the edge of the abs zone but it will be called a ball because the calculation assumes a perfect circle.
English

for people saying this was 99 at the plate 🧐

Roger Clemens, 99mph at 40 years old. Randy Johnson, 98mph at 40 years old. Justin Verlander, 99mph at 39 years old.
