After the Kinew government initially voted no, Progressive Conservatives are proud to have successfully helped push forward a bipartisan bill to establish Manitoba’s first-ever autism strategy! Bill 232, introduced by MLA Cindy Lamoureux, would require the government to develop a provincial autism strategy, whose progress would be tracked through annual reports and would be updated every 5 years. “The needs of Manitobans with autism and their families deserve to be taken seriously,” said Opposition Leader @obbykhan60. On Tuesday, the NDP voted the bill down because, according to Accessibilities Minister Nahanni Fontaine, “we don’t need legislation” as the work is already being done—which Autism Manitoba says is news to them. On Wednesday, Fontaine flipped her position following public backlash. “With legislation comes accountability and public input, which the minister does not want,” said Khan. “Had MLA Lamoureux and PCs not called for a recorded vote this morning, and had advocates not raised their voices over the last two days, the NDP were ready to let this bill die.” According to @AllianceAutism, between one and two children in every Manitoba classroom have been diagnosed with autism. “Children are at a crucial developmental stage during school years, and Bill 232 would ensure that students with autism are not just accommodated, but truly supported in reaching their full potential during these formative years,” said PC Education & Early Childhood Learning Critic @WayneEwaskoMLA. “As a teacher and guidance counsellor of two decades, I know when neurodivergent students and their families are meaningfully supported and included in the classroom, it makes all the difference.”

This graph comes straight from Stats Canada… Figures released just yesterday show that school taxes SKYROCKETED 20% across the province between 2025 and 2026. Canada’s average: 5.6%. Wab Kinew removed all the guardrails to protect homeowners — cancelling PCs’ 50% School Tax Rebate and removing school division caps on tax increases. It’s clear that NDP tax hikes are driving Manitoba’s affordability crisis. “The StatCan graph should be an embarrassing reality check for the NDP,” said PC Finance Critic @Stone_Midland. “It shows how far Manitoba has fallen out of step with the rest of Canada.” 🔗: pcmbcaucus.com/2026/03/pcs-wa…

Today and every day, Progressive Conservatives are working to foster the conditions and opportunities for Manitoba women to succeed. 🔬 That means ensuring women and girls have access to education and pathways into high-demand careers. It’s why Advanced Education & Immigration Critic Carrie Hiebert is standing up for skills training to empower women in STEM, construction, healthcare, and much more. 🍼 That means ensuring life is affordable for young mothers. It’s why Finance Critic Lauren Stone (@Stone_Midland) continues to fight for reducing the tax burden on Manitobans to make it easier to live and raise a family. 🏥 That means ensuring better health outcomes for women. It’s why Health Critic Kathleen Cook introduced her bill to reduce the breast cancer screening age, and introduced “Debbie’s Law” to ensure Manitobans receive timely care. 💙 That means protecting the safety of women and girls. It’s why Families Critic Jodie Byram continues to stand up for vulnerable Manitobans at risk of intimate partner violence or falling through the child welfare system. It’s also why PCs passed Clare’s Law in 2022, and why MLA Richard Perchotte has introduced anti-stalking legislation. 💪 That means fostering leadership at every level, in every corner of the province. It’s why PCs were proud to recently gain Spruce Woods MLA Colleen Robbins on our PC team, who continues to stand up and advocate for women in Westman and rural Manitoba. We recognize and celebrate all of the amazing women of Manitoba whose leadership, service, and determination strengthen our province every single day. From our PC Caucus to you, happy #InternationalWomensDay ♀ #IWD2026
