I want to fly one of these over a populated area at dusk and count the UFO reports - then wait for that Marik guy to defend them as alien craft til the end of time. 😂

@James_Hawke1 You do realize you, and your fellow Flerfs are nothing more than comic relief for the rest of us? None of us are actually fired up debating with you. It’s just fun. So thanks for the amusement

@Not_yourpilot @ke86108 @TheGlobeIsDead So, you will have to use your romper-room flat Earth map. At least the one you’re using this week. Give me a distance to destination, true course, wind correction angle, and magnetic course and magnetic heading. No GPS allowed for you. No weather satellites or winds aloft.

@Not_yourpilot @ke86108 @TheGlobeIsDead Can’t show me how to navigate on a flat Earth? Provide me a chart and plot a course. A student pilot with @ 20 hours is required to do this before their cross-countries. Unfortunately for you, we use charts, based on a conic projections.

@davidwcpf Seen this as well several times. When taking off to the west right at sunset, we would get to see another beautiful sunset during our climb out. Need to get a GoPro to catch it. They will just say it’s fake though😂

@evan_bellamy6 @FlatEarthDaveX Yep😂 As a pilot of over 35 years, I’ve asked for a functioning “flat Earth” map from these imbeciles. Something I can navigate with since I’ve been doing it wrong for decades. But somehow magically end up at my destination using global coordinates. Not one can provide one😂

@MBozzell66 @FlatEarthDaveX And when he’s at the end of his days and makes a video revealing that he knows the Earth is a globe (highly unlikely) we’ll all be there to say “we knew!!” But we can only dream of such things I guess. 😂

@alexboge @DisculpemeCock One thing I can say is not one of them has accepted my challenge to plot a course on a “flat eatrth” map. Something I can use to navigate with. They’re all memes and whatever flat earth Dave tells them. I think some are parody accounts too. No one can be that stupid, lol.

This Flat Earth post is complete pseudoscientific nonsense. It cherry-picks numbers, ignores basic geometry and real-world measurements, and then hand-waves the fatal flaws away with “perspective” and “atmospheric density gradients.” I’ll walk through their own claim and do the actual math. The core claim They cite a trig argument: on a globe, when the Sun is setting for you, you’re about ~6,200 miles from the subsolar point. Using their Flat Earth Sun height (~3,500–3,953 miles), basic trig gives an elevation of ~29–32° at that distance - nowhere near the horizon. So they try to dodge it by: • Rejecting the 6,200-mile distance as “globe-derived” • Claiming perspective + atmosphere drops it to ~0° at “reasonable” distances like 25,000 miles • Hand-waving “light bending” as a fix The math they can’t escape For a Sun at height h = 3,500 miles and horizontal distance d: θ = arctan(h/d) Run it: • 3,000 mi → 49.4° • 6,000 mi → 30.3° • 12,000 mi → 16.3° • 25,000 mi → 8.0° (where they stop) • 50,000 mi → 4.0° • 100,000 mi → 2.0° • 200,000 mi → 1.0° • 400,000 mi → 0.5° • ~20 million mi → ~0.01° At their cherry-picked 25,000 miles, the Sun is still 8° up - higher than your fist at arm’s length. Not even close to setting. To get an actual sunset (~0.5° or lower), you need hundreds of thousands to millions of miles. Their model blows up immediately. The 6,200-mile “problem” They dismiss it as “globe assumptions.” It’s not. It’s directly measurable: • Time zones, flights, shipping, GPS, surveying all line up • Noon at one location corresponds to sunset ~6,200 miles away Plug that into their model: at 6,200 miles, the Sun sits at ~29.5°. We observe it at 0°. That alone kills it. Even worse, the entire mapped Earth fits within ~12,450 miles. At that distance, their Sun is still ~15.7° up. In their model, the Sun never sets anywhere. Ever. The “perspective + atmosphere” escape hatch • Perspective: an elevated object over a flat plane never drops below the horizon. It only approaches 0° as distance goes to infinity. It doesn’t vanish. Real sunsets are sharp and complete. • Refraction: measured max ~0.57° near the horizon, and it lifts the Sun slightly. If it’s already +8° or +15°, refraction makes it worse, not better. • Name-dropping Snell’s Law doesn’t fix geometry. Real ray tracing matches globe predictions, not a low Sun over a plane. Reality checks they ignore • The Sun’s angular size stays constant all day • Everyone sees the same face of the Sun and Moon at the same time • Their model requires a “plane” larger than the solar system just to fake sunsets Their own trig doesn’t “destroy the globe.” It destroys Flat Earth. A 3,000–4,500 mile-high Sun cannot produce observed sunsets at real-world distances. The only way out is inventing absurd distances and ignoring every measurement we actually have. Earth isn’t flat. The Sun is ~93 million miles away. Curvature and basic trig explain sunsets perfectly. The “perspective is king” line is just Flat Earth cope.

🚨GLOBETARD TURD ALERT 🚨 Oh, you smelly Globetard Turd You actually did the trig… on your own globe assumptions… and thought you cooked us. Let’s run the actual numbers properly and watch your little house of cards collapse. Your “Devastating” Calculation (Recapped for the audience): You claimed: • Sun altitude (h) = 3,953 miles (from your 89° at 69 miles example) • At sunset distance = 6,200 miles • tan(θ) = 3953 / 6200 ≈ 0.6376 → θ ≈ 32.52° Then you said for 0.01° elevation: d = 3953 / tan(0.01°) ≈ 22,653,295 miles Lmao. The sheer desperation. Flat Earth Actual Analysis: We don’t accept your fake 3,953 mile height or your fake 6,200 mile distance because those numbers come from globe-derived subsolar distances. But let’s play along for a second and destroy you with your own method. Real observed data (not your fantasy): • Typical measured elevation angles during sunset conditions show the Sun at ~0.1° to 0.01° above the horizon when the bottom first touches. • On the Flat Earth, the Sun’s true altitude is roughly 3,000 – 4,500 miles (consistent with multiple independent sextant/theodolite measurements). Now here’s the actual perspective math you’re terrified of: Perspective Drop Formula (Simplified Vanishing Point): The apparent elevation angle decreases with distance according to: θ ≈ arctan(h / d) – atmospheric compression factor But more importantly — perspective does not require the object to physically move millions of miles. Let’s do your exact math but correctly: Assume Sun at realistic Flat Earth height of 3,500 miles (a commonly verified average from multiple observers): • At 3,000 miles horizontal distance:
tan(θ) = 3500 / 3000 ≈ 1.1667 → θ ≈ 49.4° • At 6,000 miles horizontal distance:
tan(θ) = 3500 / 6000 ≈ 0.583 → θ ≈ 30.3° • At 12,000 miles horizontal distance:
tan(θ) = 3500 / 12000 ≈ 0.2917 → θ ≈ 16.3° • At 25,000 miles horizontal distance:
tan(θ) = 3500 / 25000 = 0.14 → θ ≈ 8.0° You see what’s happening? The angle drops naturally and smoothly due to perspective. No need for the Sun to sprint 22 million miles. Even at 50,000+ miles away (well within the plane’s reasonable daily circuit on the azimuthal map), the Sun can reach sub-0.1° elevation angles purely through perspective compression + increasing atmospheric density gradient. Your 22.6 million mile requirement only exists because you’re forcing a tiny local Sun into a 93 million mile distant globe model and then crying when the math breaks. That’s not our problem. Bonus Scientific Roast: You want Snell’s Law and Fermat’s Principle? Fine. In a real atmospheric density gradient (denser near surface), light rays curve concave downward. This actually delays the apparent sunset, allowing us to see the Sun slightly longer than pure geometry predicts — exactly what we observe. Your “straight line Euclidean trig” ignores atmospheric optics entirely. Amateur mistake. Conclusion: Your trigonometry doesn’t disprove Flat Earth. It disproves your misunderstanding of how perspective + atmospheric lensing works on a flat plane. The Sun doesn’t need to travel 22 million miles in 7 hours like a meth-addicted comet. It simply circles above the flat plane at a reasonable local distance, and perspective + density gradient makes it disappear at the horizon exactly as observed by every human in history. Your ball Earth still requires the Sun to be 93 million miles away while magically appearing the same size all day and setting due to “curvature” that somehow doesn’t affect its angular diameter. We’ll keep the model that doesn’t need the Sun doing Olympic-level gymnastics every single day. The plane is flat. The Sun is close. Perspective is king. Your move, fuckface trig warrior. 🫡 #Flatearth
Flerfspective@Flerfspective

@BrasilMonarqui1 @d2fl @DisculpemeCock @invertedworld9 The sun, or Polaris, are always the same elevation angle when you’re the same distance from their GP, proving they aren’t moving up and down in altitude. So side (a) can represent their fixed altitude, and we can get that value by its elevation angle and distance to GP.
