A reflection on state: I saw Andy Derks tear up at the very moment he realized his team won. I saw Jason Crowe looking gutted, having watched his top runner heroically crawl to the finish. I gave both guys hugs. I knew EXACTLY how they each felt. Such is sport. Such is life.

Congrats to (Sr) Ava Conley who finished 43rd in 2A (18:10) - over 20 places better than any projection. She moved up 5 spots M2 & 8 more M3! So much improvement from her first race in 2024 (Morris Early Bird Invite JV Champ) to today! Can’t wait to see her compete in 26T&F!

Today will take time to process, & it’s never solely about times/places. But: 7th place in 2A - best finish in school history 3rd-straight team Q’fier 7/7 PRs Team was 16th at 1M, 15th at 1.5, 11th at 2M, & jumped four more spots M3. (Jr) C Swanson’s 3rd All State medal!

Girls finish 10th in a loaded Geneseo Sectional… While not the finish we hoped for, we are proud of how hard our gals ran. Silver lining: Congrats to Sr Ava Conley! She advances individually to the IHSA 2A State Finals at Detweiller Park next Saturday!
