Well Done to Aasiyah in S2 with the winning cake!

We finished off #ScienceWeek with some cakes! Pupils were tasked with creating a 'Science based cake'. Some excellent designs!

Wednesday lunchtime activities included an organ dissection led by Miss Kelly and methane bubbles! ♥️🫁🔥

Thanks to Mr Wasson for accompanying S2 pupils at the Girls into Physics event @UofGlasgow! Pupils had the opportunity to take part in different Physics workshops!

We also had a 'reptile handling' informative session courtesy of our departmental tortoise George! Thanks to Miss Lafferty for leading this! 🐢

Tuesday was a very busy lunchtime in the Science department with two hands on activities! Firstly we had visitors from the veterinary department @UofGlasgow who ran an insightful and very interesting workshop on what being a vet involves!

We began on Monday with a talk from Dr Caroline Busch who spoke to pupils about her career as a Medical Science Liaison 👩‍🔬

We have kicked off Science Week @MearnsCastleHS with some fantastic activities for pupils! Keep your eyes peeled to see what we have been up to! #BSW2025

Thanks to YSL pupils, Dan and Elliot, for leading Steam Club tonight! Making and testing boats in water.

Well Done to the YSL pupils today who ran the final sessions @EagleshamPS this morning. Building structures using K'Nex and testing parachutes!

P7 sessions @KirkhillPS on Friday included making slime/ice cream and building a giant tetrahedron! Some excellent skills on display. Well Done to all the YSLs involved!
