@MCProject12 I agree - we spend a lot of time building other skillsets but I think not enough on these continuous clinical improvement skills. Almost as if it is implied you can become a master by showing up for shifts. At the minimum it is worth modeling and explicitly teaching.

My impression is we don't talk about becoming a master clinician in critical care as often as in GIM or some of the IM subspecialities... but I think it is worth emphasizing in our environment as well.

Caught up with @DxRxEdu in San Francisco this morning! His key insight: "Becoming an effective clinician is about becoming an expert in knowing what to look up at the right time."
