Searchers are out of the field this Thanksgiving evening after a medical extraction of a hiker on steep and difficult off trail terrain. Thanks to Cascade Locks Fire, Crag Rats, and PNW for the support on extraction. Also thank you to AMR and the Green Hornets.

Teams are in the field for 2 subjects who are off trail and unprepared for today's heat in the Columbia River Gorge. Remember to leave a route, bring water, and be prepared.

Missing Endangered Person: Marcos Farah 82 Deputies are seeking help locating Marcos Farah, 82, of Tigard. Marcos was last seen on SW Pacific Highway (Hwy 99) near SW 68th Parkway at around 12:45 a.m. on February 12, 2025, heading towards Portland. Marcos is 5’ 4” tall and about 145 pounds with hazel-colored eyes and bald. Marcos was last seen wearing a plaid-colored button-up shirt, blue jeans, and black and white shoes. Marcos has a cognitive condition that will disorient him, and he is severely underdressed for the freezing conditions. If you have seen Marcos or have information on his whereabouts, please contact dispatch by calling 911.

Back to back overnight missions in the gorge, while also conducting survival and navigation training for our current class of recruits in between missions. 40+ volunteer searchers in the field through the weekend.

Yesterday 54 volunteer searchers were on trail from 9am - Midnight, covering 81 miles of trail between Oneonta and Angels Rest. Routes ranged from 10 to 20 miles. Over 735 total miles hiked in.

We will be training in the Multnomah Falls area this Saturday. Our new members are learning the trail system, identifying hazards, and searching for strategically placed "lost hikers" If you see one of our 6 teams on trail say hi and encourage them along their 10-16 mile routes

Search teams have located and are escorting out an overdue higher who lost the trail in the snow near Nesmith Point
