SHARPIE NEEDS HELP FIRST!! The first goal of the campaign will cover the cost of advanced imaging for Sharpie (2026-05) and about $500 worth of bloodwork and tests for Apple. And - thinking proactively and giving you all a heads up - if I see us quickly hit the current goal, I will immediately plan to raise for an MRI for Apple, too. Apple was wandering around a yard for two days, with no parents or siblings in sight in Cortland, NY. While mulling over name options for her adorably petite (except her head) self, I landed on “Apple”, because Cortland is a variety of Apple my Dad and Grandpa grew on our family fruit farm growing up. She was first brought to our dear friend, Claire with @wild_by_nurture , who immediately noticed some subtle (and not so subtle, such as head shape) oddities. Then I got a phone call that essentially said, “Hey Kim, I believe I just got in a hydro baby for you!” (many fellow rehabbers know I have a passion for these neuro fox cases - the ones that most people wouldn’t take a chance on). She worked her networking magic, and was able to facilitate transport to me - 2 hours away - in no time. We love Claire, three cheers for her!Cross all your fingers and toes and say a prayer that we WILL hit our first goal in no time, and that both Apple and Sharpie WILL stay strong enough to stay with us through management and diagnostics.For as long as I and our amazing veterinary neurosurgeon believe it remains ethical, I will continue to push forward for them - but I can only push as far as your donations allow.
