There’s something special happening in St. Pete. The Rays are LEGIT. They put pressure on a defense by putting the ball in play, have a starting rotation that rivals anybody else’s in the sport and they’re 16-5 at The Trop. Thoughts on the top team in the AL for @NBCSports:

Anytime I hear people complain about Mini’s being involved in WWE, I have to admit, it pisses me off. These little guys and gals have worked their asses off to be involved in pro wrestling their entire lives. They are fans. They are athletes. They love this business just as deeply as anybody else stepping through those ropes. All they want is the same chance afforded to every other wrestler — a moment to perform, to entertain, and to live their dream in front of the world. Sometimes the only opportunities they are given are comedy spots or “silly” bits, but damn it, they make the most of what they are handed. You cannot tell me Mini Hausen was not hella impressive in that match. The timing, the movement, the energy — the crowd reacted because the guy delivered. Yet all I see online is people boohooing that the spot should have gone to someone else. It’s a shame, because people forget that in the early days of wrestling, the “Midget” wrestlers were a massive part of the shows. This is not some made-up revisionist history. Their matches were often the highlight of the night for young fans. People lined up to see them because they were entertaining as hell. Lord Littlebrook was the godfather of midget wrestling. Alongside Little Tokyo, he trained the majority of the little wrestlers who came after them. They helped build an entire generation of performers and kept that side of wrestling alive for decades. Now imagine this for a second — one of Lord Littlebrook’s own grandchildren got to be part of WrestleMania as one of the Mini Danhausens. Wrestle-freakin-Mania. The same event that Lord Littlebrook himself was part of at WrestleMania III. That is legacy. That is wrestling history coming full circle. And honestly, with the way Mini wrestlers are treated sometimes, who knows if that young man would have ever gotten that opportunity otherwise? People always talk about respecting wrestling history until the history shows up in a form they don’t personally value. Mini wrestlers have always been part of pro wrestling. They belong here too.

So are you just trolling at this point? I want to see proof of the email accusations you made on my show this morning. Very serious accusations by the way. If you can’t prove it, and you’re telling lies then you shouldn’t hold a seat any longer

Texas is my least favorite MLB park in the US, suites all around the field so kids can’t get close to players except a weird steep right field. Then across the parking lot an empty stadium they built less than 30 years ago. Just a symbol of American failure and greed.

Ballpark No. 30 for yours truly. I’ll have Cutch coverage and thoughts on the series at Book-Rule Bucs. I’ll record some OffBeat podcasts here. ICYMI, here’s my most recent newsletter, where I looked at Bubba Chandler’s new pitch and previewed the series: bookrulebucs.substack.com/p/newsletter-b…

At Gong, 60-75% of my revenue each year is self-sourced. I've been a user of Outreach. Used Groove prior. Before, only an Outlook account. Now I use Gong. The platform doesn't matter. Sales engagement solutions help you stay organized but they don't create pipeline for you. Creating pipeline takes intentionality. The best SDRs get promoted to be Account Executives. And then most AEs don't want to face the truth. You need to keep the SDR mentality. As an AE, I don't want to be dependent on someone else (an SDR, partnerships, marketing, etc.) to find success. If reliant on someone else to find success, you'll never find consistency. Create a plan to blow past your number, that's fully within your control. The only way you can do that is by having TOO MUCH pipeline. 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: - Account Tiering / Account Research - Consistent Weekly Prospecting System - Sequencing NOT being the default strategy - Sequencing strategy - Emailing Framework - Perfecting Cold Call Pitches - Mastering Objection Handling - Multi-Channel - LinkedIn + VoiceMail Unfortunately, orgs run everyone through the same, generic 2 week onboarding. Then tell you to “go hit the phones” and generate pipeline. They are more focussed on activity metrics, rather than building up your skillset to systematically approach outbound. Shoutout to the orgs that don't preach that spray and pray.
