Well, I’ve finally retired. Thanks for all the best wishes. I’ve worked with some amazing people and some not so amazing in my sporting career. To all those I respect thank you and here’s to the next chapter 🍺✈️☀️😃🏏🏌🏿♂️⚽️👍

Former @MDCAssn president & @lancscricket cricket chairman Geoff Ogden has kindly shared this scorecard from a Lancs v Staffs U16s game @MontonSports in 1984, when Lancs top 6 batters were @Athersmike, Graham Lloyd, John Crawley, @BackStop130, P Hayes & Gary Yates. Not a bad eh?

Farokh played for the sadly now defunct Chorlton-cum-Hardy CC in 1982. Here he appears in the Association’s batting averages, together with another international wicketkeeper - can you name him?

Happy Birthday to Farokh Engineer The first Indian cricketer to endorse a brand, signing with Brylcreem. Widely regarded as one of the best wicketkeepers of his era; he was selected as the keeper for the Rest of the World XI series in England and Australia in the early 1970s. Test career: 46 matches, 2,611 runs, 2 centuries, 66 catches, 16 stumpings. He also came very close to becoming the first Indian to score a century before lunch on Day 1 of a Test match, he was 94 at lunch* and went on to score 109 against the West Indies cricket team in Madras (now Chennai) in 1967.
