A Proud Milestone in CWC’s Journey Towards Smart & Technology-Driven Warehousing At Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on June 18, 2026, CWC inaugurated its AI & IoT-Enabled Smart Warehousing System in the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Shri Pralhad Joshi; Hon’ble Minister of State, Smt. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya; Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution, Shri Sanjeev Chopra; Additional Secretary, DFPD, Smt. Anita Karn; Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Shri K. Moses Chalai; Chairman & Managing Director, Food Corporation of India, Shri Ravindra Kumar Agrawal. Implemented across 215 CWC warehouses nationwide, the Smart Warehousing System leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to minimize grain losses, enhance operational efficiency, strengthen food security, and enable data-driven warehouse management. The occasion also witnessed the felicitation of the Best Performing Warehouses of CWC and FCI under the Depot Darpan Portal Assessment, recognizing excellence in scientific storage and operational performance, along with the launch of the Smart Warehousing Manual for CWC. @sunilbajpai Palace on Wheels (BG) was originating from Delhi Safdarjang Railway Station every Wednesday at 1800 hrs during 2003-08, completing the trip and reaching Safdarjang back the following Wednesday morning.

Not really. The Palace on Wheels (with original Maharajas' carriages) on metre gauge was still running into the early 1990s. I travelled on it in 1986 (?) on the steam locomotive from Delhi Cantt to Bandikui.
