Meadowside Sunflowers Nursery

Nursery had so much fun on our pumpkin hunt today. We picked our own pumpkins that we have grown! There was lots of lovely teamwork as we decorated our pumpkins together.

Look at our super baking! This week we’ve baked our own hedgehog bread. We’re going to keep practising our egg cracking!

The Bear asked us to help as his cave was letting in the rain. We’re very proud of our new Bear’s cave!

We found Autumn treasures with our families and brought them to Nursery to explore. Today we have made our faces with the collections and some dough.

We had such a great time with our lovely families during stay and play today.

This week we played cup bowling! It was so much fun, and we loved seeing who had knocked down the most cups, by comparing on our number line. #MeadowsideMaths

After reading the Train Ride, we explored our own train journeys to the beach.

We’re starting to think about going on a train journey. Nursery loved explored a very messy and creative train journey.

Nursery now has a ‘Time In’ area, where we can go to feel calm, or ask a grown up for help.

Our seeds are fascinating. We have lots of ideas about what will grow from them. #MeadowsideScience

We’re so excited to explore our new plants to grow and gorgeous plant books.

This afternoon we collected daisies, dandelions and other natural materials to make our own transient art. #MeadowsideArt

We are counting sunflower seeds as part of our Sunflower challenge. Here we are using tens frames and counting the correct amount to match the numerals. #MeadowsideMaths

Our new planters are getting full of fruit, vegetables and flowers to attract pollinators. Nursery absolutely love growing and planting.

We loved learning about the important role of bees during Earth Day. The children were inspired to plant lots of seeds and bulbs. Hopefully our garden will soon be a wildlife haven. #MeadowsideGeography

It’s always exciting when the big tractor comes to cut the grass! This afternoon we asked lots of questions about how it works.

There has been so much amazing play on our new climbing equipment this week. Lots of great body strength developing and superstars who keep on trying.

After taking great care of our caterpillars, and watching them change into cocoons, we released our beautiful butterflies into the Nursery garden.
