@davehelman_ Another reason why these positions are not consistently drafted in round one. If you’re picking up the 5th year option on an off ball LB but have to pay him like and edge.

I’m asking earnestly: why can’t we update the 5th year option tags?
surely we can tell the difference between an off-ball LB & an OLB who rushes the passer. and surely all five unique OL positions don’t need to be lumped together.

The #Lions are declining the fifth-year option on All-Pro LB Jack Campbell, per @DanMillerFox2. The option for Campbell was worth nearly $22M, which no off-ball linebacker currently makes. All linebackers—both OLBs and ILBs—are grouped together for the option formula, creating a unique situation similar to what the #Ravens faced with Tyler Linderbaum as a center. Campbell now is set to be a free agent next year, barring an extension.

Sam Roush is very interesting for the #Bears....
I had absolutely no expectation they'd take a tight end early. But Roush is a fantastic run blocker with elite athleticism. Upside is intriguing

What I like about Scott is that he, Bryant, Gordon could be use interchangeably at the 3 interior DBs spots.

Lawrence would be a great addition. But #bears have $250K ish in cap space. Spotracs shows Dex is owed $52m ish over next 2 seasons. Math doesn’t math unless you start restructuring. I would pass on Dex and add to the DL thru the #nfldraft2026 🐻🔽
