While I’m unsure how long this job search could take i wanted to open myself back up to consulting engagements Over my 8 year career I’ve always been dedicated to building community and helping others to understand what works and what doesn’t. You can see clearly how obsessed i am with the developer journey. I’ve improved the surface area of every company I’ve worked at by focusing on creating (mostly discord) communities around your product and connecting the teams i work with to the community they serve. I’ve created and trained staff for an online conference when everything moved online, helped move B2B slack > discord, and helped some of your favorite tools get setup with their first community! Beyond community consulting, I’ve also kept my UI skills sharpened with many of your favorite stacks from my time working across tools embedded in our current ecosystem, with most of my experience with Next, Astro, Remix, and 11ty. Okay, TS/Apollo folks - do you have a solution for the nullish coalescing problem? I'm really tired of this kinda of thing all over the app, but I haven't quite found a good solution for it. I _think_ the answer is to type narrow, but it gets complicated as queries get deep.

People who do accessibility consulting, what kind of protections do you put in place (if any) to protect yourself in case a site you audit gets sued and the company would like to pass the blame to you?

This. The best managers I've had spent time in our 1:1's building trust and rapport . When I started running 1:1's last year, it's something I tried to replicate. Your relationship with your team is crucial to your role as a manager/lead.

I'm getting laid off at the end of May. I really need a safe place to land. I really enjoy developer experience/tooling work, I've also been working on e-commerce focused teams the past 3 years. Happy anywhere on the stack, remote preferred, US / Washington State based.
