I was there in 1987 when my father, a union member at International Paper in Maine, was on strike alongside 1,200 of his brothers and sisters. Rev. Jesse Jackson came all the way there to stand with them. It was a formative moment in my life.

Argentina's libertarian US puppet President Javier Milei just pushed through some of the most extreme anti-worker legislation on Earth. In addition to allowing 12-hour work days, it lets companies pay workers with food and lodging, instead of money. Argentina is a laboratory for the far-right anti-labor policies that capitalist oligarchs hope to impose everywhere. This is why Wall Street, Trump, and many US billionaire oligarchs support Milei so strongly; and it's why the US government has given Argentina tens of billions of dollars to prop up his failing self-described "anarcho-capitalist" regime.
