Independent candidate Bill Hill running to represent Alaska in the House: I’m a lifelong Alaskan Dena’ina Athabascan. I grew up in a real bush-frontier lifestyle. If you think about chopping wood and packing water—no electricity, no telephone, no TVs, running dog teams—that was the lifestyle. I have spent my entire life commercial fishing since the age of eight. I’ve been a 25-year educator in our state as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. I’ve been a construction worker, and I’m a small-business owner with my wife. Most importantly, I’m the father of four, grandfather of seven, and concerned about our nation. I’m concerned about Alaska’s representation in Congress, and I think we need real change. We need a change that truly improves the lives of Alaskans.

Julian Andreone at Dropsite: What are your thoughts on Prime Minister Netanyahu threatening to sue the New York Times and also getting to choose his interviewer on CBS? AOC: That CBS situation is, I think, a violation of any journalistic standard. So it doesn’t surprise me that Barry Weiss is letting elected officials—who should be held accountable by journalists and the free media—instead pick their interviewer.

Jackson: There were two dreams. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream in 1955 for the rights and dignity of all people that culminated in the signing of the Civil Rights Act in 1965. Also, Justice Roberts was born in 1955, and he had a dream of turning the clock back.

Hakeem Jeffries: Well, the American people absolutely should be deeply concerned. We need a wellness check on this guy. He continues to exhibit signs of decay. The other day, he literally engaged in an unprecedented social media firestorm of posts that were unhinged, that were based on conspiracy theories, that were attacking Barack Obama. Clearly, he has Obama derangement syndrome and is going after other folks, going all the way back to the 2016 campaign. He seems to believe he still won the 2020 campaign. Something is really wrong with this guy, which is why I’ve publicly called for a wellness check, an intervention.

Jeffries: Trump went overseas to China and embarrassed the country, as always. It's unfortunate, but it's extraordinary to me that you had an American president go over to China and bend the knee to the Chinese Communist Party.

Hakeem Jeffries: The country’s falling apart. The economy is a disaster. Gas prices have skyrocketed. He’s gotten us involved in this reckless and costly war of choice in the Middle East… but he has time to post about me seemingly every day—sometimes multiple times a day

Ben Meiselas: People want competent leaders who can hear what the people are experiencing — none of these con artists. Bob Brooks for Congress: That's all I think I want to do is bring common sense, working-class people's problems to Washington, DC. Because right now, we don't believe we're being thought of or cared about ... I've kind of lived the life that a lot of them are living right now.

PabloReports: What grade would you give Trump on the war with Iran? Marshall: I would have to give him an A.

Magaziner: Trump is a bitter, deranged old man who should focus less on Obama and more on helping the American people. He’s doing it because he knows he will not be remembered as being half the president Obama was, and it makes him upset.

Beshear: The president finally said something that was true. He said he does not care about the financial situation of the American people. And you know what? The way he governs shows it. The Trump economy is a failure. The only failure that rivals the Trump economy is Trump foreign policy. You look at the imposition of tariffs—Americans have paid 90% of them. It’s been a tax by the president that has made everything cost more. His war with Iran, which he and he alone chose to go into, has skyrocketed the price of not just gasoline, but diesel, making everything more expensive. Every good we ship across the country now costs more. Going to see your family, if you have to take a plane trip, costs a lot more. He won’t help reduce the price of housing through the many different levers he could pull. Why? Because he says we’re not working hard enough. And now he’s telling us that our kids have too many toys. But hey, at least he said something true. He doesn’t care about the American people

Xi Jinping and China are treating Donald Trump's visit like they don't even care.

Brett Meiselas says RFK Jr. blaming teenagers' sperm and Dr. Oz saying Americans are "under babied" are missing the point: "Putting aside all the very creepy things they are saying around this, the thing they want to avoid talking about is the real reason people aren't having kids. It's a simple reason, and it's probably the reason for most of the problems in our society right now: income inequality is so vast that most people in this country do not have the means to support children. They can barely afford their own housing and their own food, and now we're expecting them to have a whole bunch of kids. People don't have money, and the people in power are too afraid to admit it because they are the ones extracting that wealth from the people and causing those problems."

A 10-year-old wrote MAGA Congresswoman Virginia Foxx for a school project. He chose to write about an electric vehicle tax credit. Something he thought was good for the environment. Virginia responded by attacking him and his teacher for being propagandized. Her words: “your teacher will not be able to give you a good education as they are too interested in indoctrinating you... How sad.” An 80-year-old woman. Attacking a 10-year-old. For doing his homework. These people have power over your life.

PabloReports: Ted Cruz called you a parasite and disparaged your work as a bartender. AOC: It’s not a secret the disdain Ted Cruz has for people who work working-class jobs. It’s not a secret what he thinks of the waitresses, the line cooks—he thinks we’re less than him. He thinks that because he has a Harvard degree and has never scrubbed a table that it makes him better than someone who has actually had to work for a living. I think it’s funny that he’s been taking a government paycheck for 23 years but has the audacity to criticize someone who has come from a family that had to work their way up and earn their place here.
