Cory Booker on Todd Blanche's confirmation hearing: "We are literally watching before our eyes a person who's going to come before the United States Senate who is going to completely take an organization that is responsible for enforcing the law where no one is above it to making that organization being subservient to the whims of a president. That is a subversion of the law, and that is a massive sledgehammer to our democracy."

Raskin on Trump Address: He lost the election by more than 7 million votes and 306–232 in the Electoral College. The story is that he continues to lie about it, and they’ve organized an entire political party, albeit a dwindling and shrinking one, around a lie.
And then, out of that lie, flow all these other lies, like the lie about January 6th, which he says was a beautiful day of hugs and kisses.
It’s just absurd that he’s still obsessed with that lie.
So I suppose it is news that the president continues to manufacture fantasy propositions, conspiracy theories, and lies, but that’s what it should be covered as. It should not be covered as news because he has failed to develop one body of evidence that contradicts one sentence in the January 6th Report, for example. They have failed to contradict any of the findings of any of those federal court decisions.
So I suppose it’s news that he continues to be running off in this absolutely pathological direction.

Ossoff: There's talk that he might try to declare me and Raphael Warnock illegitimate. Senators, obviously, the president has no power to do that. I expect him to use whatever he puts out there on Thursday as a pretext, either for some attempted unconstitutional use of federal power to interfere in the election, or to give his proxies and loyalists in state and local jurisdictions some cover for whatever they might attempt or to lay the groundwork for challenging the result.

Harry Litman on Jeanine Pirro's comments on the Reflecting Pool vandalism case: "If she can't prove those statements in court, to me, that is an absolutely overwhelming case for ethics violation. A U.S. attorney to stand up, talk beyond the record, say all these prejudicial things, and they're lies, man oh man."

Phang: "Blanche didn't produce the handwritten interview notes about the Donald Trump sexual abuse and physical abuse. You know what Blanche said? 'The handwritten notes? Trust me, bro. It's the same thing or substantially similar.' I don't have to trust you, Todd Blanche or the Trump DOJ. And the law doesn't have a 'trust me, bro' exception."

Justin Wolfers on Trump's claim about $19.2T of investment in the US: "The president is a truly brilliant television producer. And what he's done is he's created a narrative arc that I think people find genuinely compelling. They can't avert their eyes from it. But the narrative isn't true."

Justin Wolfers on the Iran war: "It's going to be one of the dominant themes affecting the US economy. And every time the president escalates this war, American markets fall, American confidence falls, and there's a general sense that this is probably going to be a negative for the economy moving forward."

We know what happened.
Trump ordered a missile strike that hit Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, Iran, and killed at least 175 people, most of them children.

YINGS: Will you commit to releasing the findings? TRUMP on Minab School Strike: I don't think anybody will ever be able to say what happened there. While things like that happen in war, there were missiles flying all over the place. And I don't know how anybody could say that we shot it.

Meiselas: What's actually going on on Capitol Hill now that Congress has finally returned after two weeks of not working yet again?
MacFarlane: Oh, it's like pin the tail on the donkey. They're wearing the blindfolds and they've been spun around several times and have no idea what direction they're walking in.
