Those harmed by #pelvicmesh and #valproate deserve proper redress & have been waiting too long. The Patient Safety Commissioner is right to call for the government to respond in full to the Hughes report as soon as possible.
Patient Safety Commissioner@PSCommissioner

One year on from the Hughes Report It is one year since I published the Hughes Report on the options for redress for those harmed by #pelvicmesh and #valproate. Read my blog post here: patientsafetycommissioner.org.uk/one-year-on-fr…. #HearHerVoice #WomenBetrayed #AccountabilityNow

I say that non-medical professionals should regulate medicine because something about the medical education system seems to instill a fixed mindset, ego-driven willful blindness, and resistance to critical thinking.

@cheesedoff3 @LeighHall15 Send kids out to work? Earn their own keep? This isn’t about all families being on benefits and your comment displays your lack of understanding with what is wrong in our country. No child should go to bed hungry.

@Fllady11 @nursenormski Robotic surgery to find mesh that is not in the correct place? Impossible. Ask any doctor who actually knows how to do full removal…. Requires years of training & specialist equipment. You are wrong.

@nursenormski It does not take years for qualified urologist to learn to do removal properly. When they We're residents in medical school they did not spend years learning one surgical procedure. And most of the doctors in US talk about the surgery needs to be robotic surgery. If it be taught

Finally, someone who listened to the women !! So good to know that it shows that we were not treated properly, or listened to. I was discharged when I asked to go to US, before actually being referred !! Basically washed their hands of me, and many others apple.news/AssI_41mLTjGxt…

WHY are mesh injured women facing 56 week waitlist to see Scottish surgeons who maimed them so they can see the US surgeon with proven track record of thousands of full removals. Not 1 NHS patient sent-just 18months left in scheme. ⁦@MonicaLennon7⁩ ⁦@Miles4Lothian

The public swimming baths in Richmond in Yorkshire are closing and local MP Rishi Sunak is building a private pool in his own multimillion pound home. And there you have Tory Britain encapsulated in miniature.

@InjuredMesh @NicolaSturgeon I am not doing very well today, very sore, had a bad bowel movement yesterday so the mesh has moved again and felt the mesh eroding into my bowel again, how long do we have to wait to get this mesh removed, 😡😡

Dissatisfied with #mesh centre Glasgow. More so with #scotgov who seem unable to secure the basic right of being treated by the surgeon of ones choice. Devolved administrations within the NHS is a joke. The pathway is a shambles. #nhsscotland get a grip and sort out this mess

@Neilsocialist @MBLacey It’s absolutely ridiculous that we’re having to do this. The numbers are rising. If we sit back, nothing gets done. Maybe that’s what they want. Hoping we’ll all crawl under a rock #mesh

One of the hardest things is listening to how women have lost their careers. Jobs in all areas of society…. Left to beg for benefits. Mesh complications need to be recognized as the debilitating illness that it is. @scotgovhealth @NicolaSturgeon
