Cameroon just wastes your best years

Suddenly, it all came back, i came to the right place. I did miss my best friend. I just needed a cold evening, noise in my head and an empty house to drive me here.

Which was all I could mutter as she turned away with her usual grin when she least expected me at her door, but happy to either way.

Except from a random day… I showed up to my best friend’s house that evening. «Maybe-best friend», I thought to myself. To reignite some glimpse of "heart". Something that made me remember what home felt like, or someone.

I realized today, that most friendships are on a parallel path. Nobody meets anyone halfway. They are on the same wave length. We are to each other as we are to each other. And when we’re not, the movement stops.

Bro did his homework

I stayed single throughout my university years, but I was jejely throwing corn for this fine boy in my class. Unlike most girls, I liked my guys light-skinned - caramel, to be precise. He was everything: smart, funny, and caring. I bought him chocolates at least weekly; to me, that was my way of paying his bride price, one gift at a time. Smart, right? My parents were strict and wouldn't let me leave the house, but he lived nearby. Every time I saw him pass by our window, I would quickly rush and lie to my parents, telling them my period had just started and I needed to go out and get some pads. I would run quickly out of the house to catch up with him. His smile made the moon shine even brighter. I could tell this boy loved me because of all the roads that led to his house; why did he choose to pass by my window daily? I mean, I know that was the shortest route, but still... there had to be some feelings of love for me. It got to a point where my mother decided to drag me to the hospital. 'You now have four periods in one month?' That was my cue to change my lies. But what on earth could I tell these people that would make them allow me to leave the house at 10 pm at night? Finally, my final year arrived. I had been looking forward to this, because it meant I would soon be graduating and could finally move out and properly chase this fine boy. Maybe I could even show him real boss woman workings . I was planning to move from small gifts to something more massive. I had already planned his birthday, Valentine's Day, and our wedding - all in my head, of course. He was married to me; he just wasn't aware. I told my friends to start calling me Mrs. Ayuk. I must marry this boy! But as life would have it, there will always be people trying to put asunder what God has put together. We got a new transfer student, and from the moment I saw this girl, I knew she could never be good news. This girl was smart - almost as smart as my husband, Mr. Ayuk. I don't know how and when they began doing peer learning together, but jealousy took over. I was so angry - angry at him, even - and I decided not to celebrate all the birthdays I had planned in my head for him. I was ready to even go to court to claim sole rights to our children and have him pay child support while at it. But then I remembered we don't have children yet, and we're not even married in reality. One day, I was lucky enough to get paired with him for a project. I was the type of student who only focused on getting class knowledge, and my GPA was on fire - 3.76 cumulative so far. My babe was behind with a 3.43, but still, he was smarter - my practical man. We had to present a software solution, and this would cover the entire grading for that course. How do I tell this boy I can answer code-related questions on paper and pass, but in reality, I can't code? As good things would have it, he had a family emergency and had to travel out of town. The assignment was due in a week; how do I cover up for us both? But this was my chance to show this boy that I'm smart too. I enrolled in a crash course in React JS - a three-day crash course. But man, nothing was entering my head as I moved forward with the course. I was forgetting everything I learned in the back pages. It was a whole struggle. Then I came across whilesmart, an IT consulting firm. Guess what? These people built me a whole web application in little to no time. Come and see me presenting what they built like a pro. My babe had returned; my guy was just nodding his head and smiling. We got an A+ on the project, and after that class, he moved to me and asked if I'd like to go on a date.
