Is it a hot take to say that Thomas Frank should've never been sacked? Maresca as well.

Clips are no longer the byproduct of the main product — they’re the main product. No matter the size of the show, they drive the ultimate reach 👇

Love when Pep's conferences are him actually talking about football. And not when he's asked for the millionth time if playing first or second makes a difference in a title race. These comments about Cherki are what we should hear every conference!
City Report@cityreport_

Rayan Cherki has the potential to step into David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne’s boots and become #ManCity’s ‘flair player’, says Pep Guardiola. 🗣️ “Yeah, he has the ability, quality in the final third. That’s why I always demand, sometimes he goes back to pass the ball to the keeper. I say, ‘I don’t want you there, I want you up there’. In the final third he has something that I like a lot with attacking players, how they play with the rhythm. Accelerate, decelerate, accelerate, decelerate, immediately attack, and after stop, and everybody stops, and after accelerate again. These players have the ability to play with the rhythm of the opponents. They have the vision to surprise [the opponents]. For me, that defines the best. A player can be incredibly fast, but he doesn’t know to stop and accelerate again, they will never be a top, top, top player. Jeremy [Doku] as well, he goes, and stops, and goes, and stops. Those players are really, really good. Cherki in that is extraordinary; really, really extraordinary. He accelerates, stops, all the defenders stop, and after he has the ability to make a pass, an assist, and shoot. That’s why we need him close to the final third, so his talent helps us get assists, goals. It’s his biggest strength.” 🎥 youtu.be/ZWl14-OZSs0

@Bd_irB_ll Khusanov will be the new Kyle Walker imo. Nunes will be the one sacrificed.

One of Dias/Gvardiol/Guehi is gonna be pissed cause I don't think Khusanov is giving that spot back anytime soon

Pep Ljinders celebrating like that 😂 Compare that to Pep's quotes about Arteta when City scored against Arsenal.

@MaccaSport Think that's just variance to be honest. Newcastle's final aggregate was very harsh relative to performance. I think Chelsea's 5-2 defeat was also harsh in the first leg, and then Tottenham's first leg was also just a WTF moment.

Barcelona are better than Newcastle, Atletico are better than Tottenham, PSG are better than Chelsea, and Real Madrid are fairly even with Man City. Arsenal and Liverpool were the only clear favourites.

Eddie Howe has brought us from 19th in the PL and winless to going toe to toe with Barcelona at the Camp Nou, let that sink in!

@MFFooty And not one word about Fermin's run towards the box to drag the defenders away from Lamine lol

@QuantumRare @SaF7910 You say that as if it's inevitable though, I don't see Lamine unlocking one goal a game finishing to be honest. He seems to be way more tilted to passing than Messi's directness and killer instinct in and around the box. Messi always followed his passes whereas Lamine admires.

@SaF7910 I would argue even in terms of raw talent, Messi was still better at this age. But Lamine's achievements and decision making on the pitch eclipse Leo at 18. The day Lamine unlocks one goal a game finishing is when he'll slowly enter the top 20 footballers ever debate

Recruitment at this stage will often be limited to buying from other mid table Premier League teams at a high premium and relying on our coach to increase their level. The unfortunate reality is also that when they hit high levels other big teams will look at our players.

The transfer fees are one thing but while there's a massive wage gap between us and the teams at the top this will continue to happen. Losing two battles Joao Pedro and Liam Delap to the same team sums it all up!

Fan anger shouldn't be blamed anywhere! Just need to accept the reality. We've massively overachieved since the takeover, this was the first summer where the market was extremely competitive and we missed all of our top signings. If anything anger should be at FFP.
Daily Mail Sport@MailSport

'Eddie Howe Out' is a thing at Newcastle now. It's baffling. Fan anger should be aimed at the semi-interested Saudi owners who promised so much but have delivered so little and have badly let manager and club down, writes OLIVER HOLT trib.al/ckM30rG
