After extensive research and studies on things I didn’t even understand, I explain what’s happening with our beloved network: right now it’s receiving bids and proposals from several other major networks. is this some kind of auction? should we be worried? definitely not What’s happening is a competition to decide who will be the sequencer provider once Ronin becomes an @ethereum L2. the sequencer is basically the “timekeeper” of the chain: • gathers transactions (from mempool or directly from users) • decides their order • groups them into blocks and posts them to Ethereum So what are these proposals? they’re packages of tech + infra + incentives to convince Ronin to adopt each stack: • @zksync - up to 3M $ZK in gas subsidies • @0xPolygon - $11–13M USD in total (includes a $3.15M grant) • @Optimism - $5–7M in grants + ecosystem perks • @arbitrum - 1.5M $ARB (~$728K) + benefits but how do you compare beyond just the $$? • Proof system: optimistic (Optimism/Arbitrum) vs zk (ZKsync/Polygon) - impacts withdrawal time & UX “optimistic vs zk,” referring to the type of cryptographic proof that an L2 uses to “convince” Ethereum that its transactions are valid. This directly impacts security, speed, and user experience. 🔹 Optimistic Rollups (e.g., Optimism, Arbitrum) They operate under the logic of “innocent until proven guilty.” Transactions are assumed valid when submitted to Ethereum.
