the worst part of living with my wife is that i’m also living with all her intrusive thoughts like last night as we were falling asleep i said “i hope that you sleep well” and then through the darkness she replied “i hope that whenever i die you die at the exact same time”

A few years ago, in the waning hours of a summer barbecue, my elderly downstairs neighbor started to tell me a little bit about his life. Now, I get to tell all of you. Read the wildest story that's ever landed in my lap: rollingstone.com/culture/cultur…

The way Kennesaw State responded in CUSA play, the CUSA tournament, and in tonight’s game, after losing Simeon Cottle to the point shaving stuff, is remarkable🦉

Saint Louis is also the only 9-seed or worse to score 100 in an NCAA tournament game in at least 15 years. Only 13 total teams since 2011 have hit 100 points or more in a tourney game.

Mike White with two NCAA Tournament teams at Georgia: 2025: 0-1 in SECT, 0-1 in NCAAT 2026: 0-1 in SECT, 0-1 in NCAAT Back to back appearances in the 8/9 game and the Bulldogs lost by 21+ both times. Hard to overstate how pathetic of a postseason showing this has been in back to back seasons.

The United States had never won Olympic gold in women's gymnastics. Not once in history. And in Atlanta in 1996, with Russia breathing down their necks in the closest team final in years, they were about to lose it again. Then their star athlete fell on her vault. Twice. The lead evaporated. Eighteen year old Kerri Strug was last to go. She ran, vaulted, landed wrong, and heard her ankle snap. Her coach told her they needed one more jump. So she stood back up, ran the full runway on torn ligaments, stuck the landing on one foot long enough to salute the judges, and collapsed. Her coach carried her to the podium in his arms as 32,000 people chanted her name. The United States won gold for the first time ever, beating Russia by less than one point. Then came the detail that changed everything. The scores were already there before she jumped. Her coach had miscalculated. The vault was never needed. She tore two ligaments and never competed again. When asked years later if she regretted it, she said it was one of the proudest moments of her life. She graduated from Stanford University, worked in the US government, and raised a family.

My grandfather is entering the final days of his life. He's 95 and he's ready to go home to his maker. But I thought I would tell a funny story. My mother and grandmother and I spent last night at the ER with him. About midnight the overnight hospitalist (doctor that treats patients while they are in the hospital) comes into the room. Talks to my grandmother and I for a few minutes and then begins to do a basic cognitive test on my grandfather. He starts with a simple question. "Can you tell me your name?" Now my grandfather (whose name is John) has slowed with age, but until the last few days has remained sharp, and if he has enough energy, a joker as well. He looks at the doctor, and while the confusion of his current ailment slowed his response, he eventually manages to confidently say "Juan." The doctor looks at him, then glances at my grandmother and I to see that we are laughing, before deciding that, yes, my grandfather despite his struggles managed to make a joke out of the test. He laughs. "Well I admit I was expecting a Juan to look at a little more Mexican." (My grandfather is the source of the red hair in my family and couldn't possibly look any less like a Juan) Long pause from my grandfather as he processes that. "Si." The doctor proceeded to casually call him Juan the rest of the night. A day later the decline has worsened and the end has drawn near. I passed by the doctor in the hall on the way into the ICU, had a quick chat with him about my grandfather, and then he told me that he'd never forget the 95 year old red head claiming he was Juan during a cognitive test. May we all manage to be so memorable in our last days. 😅

Record for most threes by a family in NBA History belongs to none other than the Currys — 6,247 combined 3s and counting. This is probably one of the most unbreakable records out there.

Huey Lewis didn’t want to write a song called Back to the Future, so he delivered “The Power of Love” instead. Robert Zemeckis loved it, built it into key scenes, and it went on to become a No.1 hit for Back to the Future (1985).

During my Expedition to the Gila Wilderness, we discovered AT LEAST two uncharted & unknown archaeological sites—possibly 2000+ years old. We also found other sites that I suspected were prime locations for ancient Native American artifacts to be found on the surface… but time & food constraints forced us to chart their location to come back on another expedition. Full footage of the expedition will be released tomorrow 🎥
