Its shared budgets (civil, military command, and infrastructure) total only about $4 billion per year, which funds headquarters, command systems, and some shared infrastructure—not most bases used by the U.S. European host countries provide about $2–3 billion per year in “host nation support” (land, construction, utilities, tax breaks) for U.S. bases. But the United States still pays the vast majority, spending roughly $30–36 billion annually to maintain U.S. forces and bases in Europe. In overall defense spending, the U.S. contributes about $980 billion per year, while all European NATO members combined spend roughly $380 billion, meaning the U.S. still accounts for around 60–70% of total NATO military spending.

NATO is not just "not helping": it is ACTIVELY UNDERMINING THE US 🇺🇸.

Correct. I don't think Europeans understand how offended America is right now. We are furious that France, Italy, Spain and Austria closed their airspace. That is deeply offensive after 80 years of US military subsidies on the backs of hard working Americans while Europeans enjoyed free Universities and free healthcare. France is fucking siding with China and Russia at the UN this week against a coalition of the US Israel and Arab Nations. NATO is functionally dead. EU will need to wake up and step it up. Does that mean we'll pull out of Europe? No. If we pull out of NATO we'll keep deals with Germany, UK, Denmark, Poland and others and increase our power in Japan, Korea, Israel and elsewhere. EU militaries are a joke. We need them to project power but they need us much more. We've been subsidizing their security for 80 years and they've gone socialist and complacent. They can't even afford to upgrade their military without gutting their socialist programs. It would collapse their countries.

I’m not sure why Putin allows this to continue. He has a golden opportunity to level everything in that God-forsaken land while everyone is distracted in Iran, yet he still permits zelensky to create chaos. What kind of strategy is this?
