@Statastan I'm at that level where this is needed. I've downloaded it, will try it later. Great initiative!

Hey all! I am excited to announce the release of an Android app I have been working on: CountLab Go!
The app is a quiz-based learning app to improve your counts in Pokemon GO PvP.

Reading Trump’s message to Jonas Støre, the Prime Minister of Norway, it is hard to escape one impression. Greenland does not come across as strategy, security, or geopolitics. It reads like grievance. Like revenge. As if Greenland, in Trump’s mind, has become a proxy for the Nobel Peace Prize he never got.
The tone is not diplomatic. It is petulant. It feels personal. Almost punitive. As if Norway’s refusal to crown him with the prize has been filed away as an open wound, now resurfacing through territorial obsession and performative outrage.
This is serious 25th Amendment territory. If this does not qualify, then the United States will never have a clearer or stronger case.
We are talking about fitness to govern.

@afneil The people of Greenland should decide who they would rather be affiliated with. If China or Russia decided to invade, who's going to stop them? certainly not Denmark. We've seen how this has played out with Ukraine, lots of posturing and £ given, nothing more.

LAIC Feedback
Lots of players and staff (myself included) have been making decisions on the success of the LAIC meta before the conclusion of the tournament.
Most of the positive feedback has come from competitors and tournament staff (inc casters) & not spectators, granted that I what I see on X is likely skewed to the former based on who I follow.
What’s clear:
- Enjoyable meta for players
- Excellent outlet to display skill, energy management and line reading. Less scope for external factors to influence game outcomes.
- Experienced players will likely be able to appreciate this during their viewing experience.
What’s not (necessarily) clear:
- How does this translate to the less experienced spectator/ non Pokemon Go players viewing experience.
My opinions:
- I feel that experienced players will be able to enjoy the fruits of subtle displays of skill and nuances in this refined meta. I am not confident that a less experienced player / non Pokemon Go spectator would be able to appreciate this (even with guidance of the casters)
- While access to a restricted pool of Pokemon in theory makes access better for grassroots/ new players; I think the increase in skill ceiling and potential narrowing of scope may deter new players.
A better playing experience may not mean a better viewing experience
A better viewing experience may not mean a better playing experience.
Things that went well:
- Integration of the LAIC meta into OGL (could there be an earlier iteration of this in the season?)
- As above, a meta that was accepted by players and staff
Future:
Moving forwards, we should reflect on the positives of this as well as seeking opportunities to improve. I feel that a different iteration of this at EUIC could be very successful.
The future should focus on GROWING the player base and incentivising new players to compete. We also need to ensure we MAINTAIN the current player base. I feel that LAIC favoured the latter here.
Olympic events like Kayak Cross and Ski Cross were set up to increase spectatorship, with both events being more popular with fans of the Sport than athletes (in general). Both are generally considered “less technical” than their counterparts in nature.
What are your thoughts?

I LOVED Play! Pokémon's willingness to launch a limited meta for LAIC! However, I think we are looking at a failed experiment. While the meta is a balancing masterpiece, streamed events also need to work as television – and you just don't get there with ~12 viable Pokémon.

@AurangzebK10 @charliekirk11 @Fatima_Khatun01 Are you familiar with the difference between correlation and causation? You've proven nothing.

@pogo_central One done, one to go. Did dark type first as there's lots of darks in raids/max battles atm. Waters are very prevalent, so not in a hurry with that one

@alessabocchi I agree with the sentiment, but I fear I'd be accused of sexual harassment.

@realMaalouf I don't believe the cyclist is Israeli, but one of the sponsors are. Nonetheless the people who do this are crap.

@JimWigginMAGA @CNviolations No evidence? Russia literally had an army group going towards Kiev that was beaten back.
English

@CNviolations It's all based on the premise that Russia WANTS to invade those other countries. There's no evidence of that. There's no evidence that Russia even wants all of Ukraine; they just want Ukraine to remain neutral so they don't have NATO missiles on their borders, annexed land aside.

Ren tryllekunst!

@alessabocchi I agree. But compared to what we get in architecture nowadays, I'd take it any day of the week.
